Andrew Gillum told Tamron Hall he identifies as bisexual. The confession came months after he was caught nude in a South Beach hotel room with a naked male escort.

“I don’t identify as gay, Gillum told Hall during the season 2 return of the “Tamron Hall” show, which airs Monday, Sept. 14, on ABC at 3 p.m. EST.

Gillum, 41, was joined by his wife, R. Jai Gillum, who spoke openly about her husband’s sexuality. She confirmed reports that she knew of her husband’s desire for men.

“Love and sexuality sits on a spectrum,” R. Jai told Hall. “All I care about is what’s between us… Those people who love us and care about us and wish us well — no matter what did happen — that is the energy we need and receive,” she said.

Gillum said he informed his wife about his sexual lifestyle “so many years ago.” The couple shares three minor children.

When Hall asked Gillum if he felt like a weight had been lifted off of him, he said he had “mixed emotions” but that he feels “more whole” now that the public knows of his predilection for men.

Gillum said he wouldn’t rule out entering another race for public office in the future.

Gillum, a former rising superstar in the Democratic Party, narrowly lost the 2018 gubernatorial race in Florida that would have made him the first Black governor of the nation’s largest swing state.
