Drake was one of 5 breakout celebs to be named Men of the Year by GQ magazine. Last night, the magazine celebrated the GQ Men of the Year issue which hits newsstands nationwide on Nov. 23.
Last night, rappers Drake, left, and Kid Cudi attended the 15th annual "GQ Men of the Year" party held at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. Drake was chosen as one of 5 Men of the Year. Congrats to him for showing the young'ns that hard work really does pay off!
Rapper Nicki Minaj stopped to sign autographs for fans waiting outside The Wendy Williams show in New York City today. Nicki performed "Right Thru Me" live on the show and she discussed her debut CD Pink Friday, which drops on Pink Monday (Nov. 22).
Correction: after watching the video, it's clear that Nicki is lip syncing as she always does. It's hard to be real when you're entire act is a gimmick.
Matt rocked a brown Louis Vuitton hoodie ($1,060) with damier print lining the interior, a Louis Vuitton antique bag printed shirt ($400), and a pair of Louis Vuitton Punchy sneaker boots ($545). He also accessorized with a Junya Watanabe Camo scarf and carried his Louis duffle bag and backpack.
Actress Vivica A. Fox was accompanied to Philadelphia by her man Slimm over the weekend. While there, Vivica hosted 'Fantastique Fox - Baileys Signature Event' at Thirteen Restaurant in the Marriott Hotel. Isn't she stunning? They say that a groupie hacked Slimm's cell phone (again) and stole some very personal pics of him. She is now shopping the pics on the Internets. Slimm won't be happy about this, but his female (and male) fans will be.
Who knew Halle Berry and Garcelle Beauvais were BFFs? The two actresses were spotted leaving Barefoot Restaurant in Beverly Hills, Ca after having a girls lunch together. Spies overheard the women discussing their rocky relationships with men outside of their race. Okay, I'm kidding. But I bet they have a lot in common with each other.
R&B singer and former American Idol contestant, Frenchie Davis, wore a bright yellow dress on the way to her doctor's office in Beverly Hills yesterday. I hope all is well with her. Photo Exclusive: INFPhoto.com
Rihanna and her baseball slugger boyfriend, Matt Kemp, were spotted arriving in Paris, France earlier today. The couple were seen running to get out of the rain. That's one hawt Louis Vuitton handbag. I wonder if it's new? Rihanna performed live on X Factor show in Milan, Italy yesterday. (Photo compilation)
More Alicia Keys pics: AK is featured in the November 2010 Vogue Italia issue, on newsstands now. A little birdie told me that these pics are old. She said the photos were actually taken before Alicia started putting on baby fat. I don't know how true that is. But her telltale thick ankles are slimmer in these pics than they looked last night when she attended the GQ magazine party in NYC. Maybe that explains why she didn't make the cover?
The Sister 2 Sister magazine 22nd Anniversary party last night was star studded, to say the least. Great night for publisher Jamie Foster Brown!
Last night, Sister 2 Sister Magazine celebrated their 22nd Anniversary at a star-studded party in Atlanta honoring Mathew Knowles, President/CEO, Music World Entertainment, Inc. (pictured above); (Roger Bobb, Producer/EVP, Tyler Perry Studios); Will Packer (Rainforest Films); Stephen Hill (President of Music, Programming & Specials, BET); and Paxton Baker (EVP/General Manager, CENTRIC).
The Real Housewives’ Kandi and BET’s Terrence J (pictured above with Will Packer) emcee’d the event, which included presentations from Jermaine Dupri, Juanita Bynum, Jeffrey Osborne, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Terri J. Vaughn, and Rev. Jamahl Bryant, as well as performances by Ginuwine, SWV (who totally killed the audience with their stirring rendition of “If Only You knew”) and choreographer Andrea Kelly (R.Kelly’s ex-wife). The belle of the ball, of course, was S2S publisher Jamie Foster Brown who was presented with the Phoenix Award by Mayor Reed for the magazine’s 22 years of excellence in publishing and entertainment.
The spectacular event was coordinated and planned by Atlanta's premiere party planner Jamahl King and his team at S.T.E.P.S. Events.
Singer Rihanna dined out with friends at 'Da Giacomo' Restaurant in Milan, Italy yesterday. I LOVE the Prada handbag. That seems to be her favorite bag at the moment.
Pop icon Janet Jackson attended the 20th Annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2010 at Carnegie Hall in New York City yesterday. She looks stunning! But she should stop bleaching her skin now. I remember when Janet Jackson was a brown skin girl on 'Good Times' before some of you kids were born.
Singer/actor Tyrese Gibson hangs by a thread as he films scenes from the upcoming movie Transformers 3 in Culver City, California yesterday.
Loyal reader Barbie asked if I could do a write-up on the fantastic performances on BET's Black Girls Rock special which aired 2 nights ago. Unfortunately, I missed it. But here's the video of Kelly Price, Marsha Ambrosius, Jill Scott & Ledisi singing "Four Women". They put it down! I'm so proud of our talented R&B singers. I must have watched this video 15 times!
Hope all is well, Sandra!
Please, oh please put a write-up on the BGR performance by Kelly Price, Marsha Ambrosious, Jill Scott, and Ledisi. They performed the heaven and hell out of Four Women, originally done by Nina Simone.
I'm telling you that this performance is newsworthy, award worthy, and pure CHURRCH. Even an atheist would believe in a higher power after listening to these ladies showcase their art. Because there's no way that those sounds are simply trained vocals, they are melodious history and divinely inspired.
Also, regarding RHOA, would you please get the scoop on Kim's "assistant?" Not since Butterfly McQueen's portrayal of enslaved Prissy in Gone With the Wind, have I cringed so at a black woman being assailed and belittled by a white woman. Does this "assistant" think that she's got a lucrative position?
Personally, I don't believe for one instance that Kim actually likes black folk. She's given reasons ad infinitum as to why one can draw this conclusion, but perhaps none as much as how she treats her employee/slave impersonator. Would she pull that mess with Rebecca of Sunny Brook Farm? Me thinks not.
Pop star Rihanna and her beau Matt Kemp joined newlywed BFF Katy Perry (with her husband Russell Brand), below, at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2010 in Spain. Matt already looks like he's over the media frenzy surrounding his girlfriend -- especially since no one is calling his name. Photo illustration
Rihanna was seen leaving Madrid, Spain yesterday after opening the MTV Europe Awards 2010. RiRi was seen leaving her Madrid hotel wearing no makeup, a cute shearling coat with thigh high socks.
Rapper Eve, who only dates wealthy caucasian men who treat her like a queen, attended the London premiere of "Jackass 3D" with her man yesterday. Doesn't she look hawt? we can forget about her ever touching a mic. The girl is paid now. She can just kick back and chill.
Janet Jackson looks Heavenly in these promos shots at a Press Conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Monday (Nov.1) Janet was in town for the screening of Tyler Perry's 'For Colored Girls'.
Troubled producer Kanye West attended the grand opening of Kim Kardshian's Dash store in NYC yesterday.
Music producer Jermaine Dupri used Janet to get his shine on for years. And now Wissam Al Mana -- a name none of us ever heard of until he started dating 44-year-old Janet Jackson -- is modeling in men's magazines, thanks to Janet.
Wissam, 35, director of Al Mana Retail Group based in Dubai, is wearing a Z Zegna leather bomber jacket and a Balenciaga hoodie in the November issue of VMAN, on newsstands Nov. 11.
Here's what the wealthy businessman had to say about Janet Jackson, how he earns his keep, and his favorite clothing designer:
On his relationship with Janet Jackson:
“I don’t date Janet Jackson. She is my girlfriend; there is a difference. She is a very special and talented woman who never ceases to amaze me.”
On his busy work schedule:
“I head the retail division [of the Qatar-based family empire, Al Mana Group]. I oversee new developments and I’m constantly working on interesting projects, one of them in design. I’m also pursuing an art project, and i’m involved in several charities.”
On working with Giorgio Armani:
“Mr. Armani is down-to-earth, very kind, and someone I admire for creating one of the largest luxury brands in the world from scratch.” Source
