Convicted felon Lil Wayne was in town last night to attend the birthday party of one of his artists, Shanell, aka SNL, of the group Bad Girls Club, who is signed to his label Young Money Records. He arrived in a chauffeured Rolls Royce all by himself and celebrity photographer Prince Williams was on the scene to capture all the excitement! See more pics on ATLPICS.net.

New Couple Alert? Wayne's artist Shanell celebrated her birthday last night at a midtown Atlanta nightspot with her sister D. Woods and Mika Means who round out the group Bad Girls Club. The event was not advertised. So club patrons were shocked to see Lil Wayne and Drake walk in the building.

Shanell's birthday party was also attended by Weezy's other artist Drake (below, left), and rapper Yung Joc (above, right).

Once again, Barack Obama shows his quiet disdain for the United States of America. This picture was taken on Veteran's Day at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Even if it isn't protocol to salute the flag during the National anthem, it is customary and a sign of respect.

Despite what his mouth may say, Obama's actions speaks louder than words.

E! presents a sneak preview of Keeping Up with the Kardashians: 2 hour Wedding Special this Sun @ 8/7c on E! So it looks like this wedding wasn't a sham after all.

Khloe's eyes teared up when her sisters Kim and Kourtney gave a little speech during the reception. Unless Khloe is a really good actress, she can't fake that kind of emotion.

LaFace Records held its pre-Soul Train Awards 20 year reunion party at Uptown Restaurant and Lounge on Monday night in Atlanta.

Veteran LaFace Records staff and artists came from far and wide to attend the reunion. Former LaFace execs like Phillana Williams, Ciara's former manager, (pictured above, center) who was very supportive of me early in my career. And the kind LaFace receptionist (pictured bottom left).

Noticeably absent from the party were founders LA Reid and Babyface, who I hear pulled out of the awards at the last minute because the show was so disorganized. Naturally, everyone wondered why they couldn't make it to their own reunion party.

The Soul Train Awards was filmed last night at Georgia World Congress Center in downtown. It airs on Nov. 27, I think.

The LaFace staff were not the kindest people in the industry back in those days. So this picture post will be a short one.

Thanks to Thad of ExclusiveAccess.net for the pics!

Who knew former Hot 107.9 host Rashan Ali used to work for LaFace?

Former LaFace employee Randall Dunn poses with one of his Atlanta Dymes beauties, the lovely and talented Tomika Skanes. Randall founded the wildly popular Atlanta Dymes Calendar, which he was nice enough to send me. Tomika Skanes is featured prominently among the scantily clad models in the calendar.

Celebrity party planner Jamahl King, left (yes, he planned this event too) posed with producer Tony Mercedes who founded Mercedes Records after falling out with LA Reid back in the day.

Here are more pics from Halloween parties that took place over the weekend here in Atlanta. Diamond, Toya and Rasheeda attended JD and Nelly's mansion party on Saturday night. Bear with me y'all. This is the last Halloween post.

Both Kandi and Toya have emerged as Atlanta's most eligible bachelorettes! You should see the emails I receive from their devoted fans -- mostly men looking for the hook up. I don't play matchmaker for celebs so I'm not posting those emails. But the emails are interesting.

Hopefully OK! magazine can recoup the $300,000 they lost, er, spent on this cover. Lol, they had to put Kim Kardashian on the cover if they had any hope of selling more than 100 magazines.

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom’s publicity stunt wedding has finally reached its climax.

After shelling out $300 000, the upcoming issue of OK! mag offers all the details on the ceremony, from interviews with bridesmaids/sisters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian to dish on the wedding dress, ring and cake.

The issue — which strangely also features Kim and Khloe — hits shelves tomorrow. The wedding production airs on November 8 on Keeping Up With the Kardashians. (Source)

I did a double take when I saw this magazine cover on another blog. I had to make sure that I was seeing the words "Life & Stye" instead of "OK! magazine", which reportedly shelled out $300,000 in cold cash to Khloe Kardashian and her mama for the exclusive rights to Khloe and Lamar Odom's wedding.

Yet there she is laughing it up on the cover of Life & Style magazine in her white Vera Wang wedding dress -- and OK! magazine's editors are not amused!

Not only did Life & Style get the wedding dress money shot, but so did X17online.com's paparazzi as well as numerous helicopter bound paparazzi in the skies above the Beverly Hills mansion where Khloe's quickie marriage to NBA star Lamar Odom took place on Sunday.

According to ContactMusic, the magazine bosses are furious at Khloe for allowing her wedding to turn into a 3-ring media circus. But that's what media whores DO, and OK! magazine should have already known that!

No doubt, the Kardashians made a few side deals in addition to the one they had with OK! mag. At this point, Khloe Kardashian needs to stack as much loot as she can because her sister Kim Kardashian -- the other media whore in the family -- wants her spotlight back.

In the meantime, OK! mag is out $300,000 and clear pictures of Khloe in her wedding dress are all over the Internets.

A guest at the wedding told OK! mag, "There were so many helicopters overhead, you couldn't hear the vows. The Kardashian family had assured OK! the ceremony would be at a secluded location, but in the end it was a circus."

Speaking of magazine covers, First Lady Michelle O covers Prevention magazine this month. Inside she says, "Life really gets good when you're 40 or 50." I bet she'll sing a different tune when she starts going through menopause!

Lamar Odom's baby mama Liza Morales is just as surprised as we are that the NBA star is tying the knot with TV personality Khloe Kardashian. Morales is clueless as to the reason behind Lamar and Khloe's mad dash to the alter (she's not pregnant, so they say).

Morales, who was once engaged to Odom, told E! Online in an exclusive interview that she got the news in a text message from a friend so she thought it was a joke. "I knew they were dating, because, like everybody else saw, they were going all of these places they could be seen. So that's how I found out they were dating. It's just really, really shocking," she tells E! News. "Everybody, and I quote, 'everybody' is shocked by this."

Morales said she would not be attending the weeding, but her daughter Destiny has met Khloe while her son declined to meet her.

Odom, 29, began dating Liza Morales when they were both just 17, and they've had three children together: Destiny, 11, Lamar Jr., 8, and Jayden, who died of SIDS at age 7 months in 2006. The high school sweethearts split two years ago.

Morales, who now lives in New York City with the two children, says Destiny has met the E! star, but Lamar Jr. "chose not to." The family won't be making a last-minute trip to California to witness the union.

"I would definitely say it is moving too fast," Morales says. "I think that marriage is a life commitment and it is not something you rush into. You can't think about the wedding. You have to think about the marriage and what that consists of. This is not a fabulous pair of shoes, or a fabulous custom-made suit we are talking about. So I would definitely say he is acting on impulse."

From Atlanta.MetroMix.com:

Twenty years is a milestone by just about every standard. But 20 years for a club is like a lunar eclipse or Haley’s Comet striking. Still, that’s exactly how long The Masquerade has been around. And what better way to celebrate than to join forces with another Atlanta institution.

If you're not from Atlanta, then you may have missed the news about the Goodie Mob reunion concert. Just let this serve as your notice. In fact, Sept. 19 just might be accompanied by a city proclamation. That’s how much of an Atlanta treasure the Goodie Mob is.

While the Goodie Mob guys may have had their disagreements, demonstrated by the fact that all four of them haven’t recorded an album together since "World Party" dropped in 1999, they are brothers from another mother and it was only a matter of time that they found their way back home in an official capacity. Although official word of a breakup, which they don’t really use now to describe their time apart, came in 2002, the group reunited for an appearance at a Gnarls Barkley Atlanta concert in 2006. Last year, at the free Nelly show at The Tabernacle, fans got an unexpected surprise when Goodie Mob hit the stage. On Sept. 19, there’s more than a taste in store. It’s a full-out Goodie Mob concert. Read more...

The Obama administration on Wednesday rescinded its invitations to Iranian Diplomats to enjoy hot dogs and burgers on 4th of July as Iranian citizens continue to die at the hands of the extremist regime.

The fact that the invites were extended by Barack Obama in the first place is a disgrace. And the fact that it took the Obama administration so long to rescind the invites is a discredit to the office, and an affront to the people of Iran.

If you haven't had your breakfast yet (and you have a strong stomach), click the link below to read an excerpt from a writer who calls Obama a moral coward for not standing up to the terrorist regime.

From ContactMusic:

Prison-bound rapper T.I. played a rousing farewell gig to fans on Sunday (5/24) as he winds down his career before embarking on a year-long stint behind bars.

The Live Your Life hitmaker will hand himself over to the authorities by noon on Tuesday (5/26) to start his 366-day jail term, which he was handed in connection with his recent conviction on weapons charges. T.I., real name Clifford Harris, Jr., asked lawmakers to delay his sentence until he could secure a a cell in a minimum-security prison near his home in Atlanta, Georgia.

His request was denied and he must report to authorities in Forrest City, Arkansas on Tuesday as planned. But that didn't stop the star from taking to stage one last time to thrill fans, who have bombarded the star with messages of support ahead of his jail term.
The gig, at Atlanta's Philips Arena, saw a crowd of 16,000 wave banners and cheer as T.I. brought his five children on stage during his track No Matter What.

And he thanked the audience for sticking by him throughout his troubled past: "I'm going to stand up tall, head up high. Thank you for all of your support. "What I need y'all to do is pray for me while I'm gone. I'll see y'all in 366 days."

Rap artist Rasheda, left, and birthday girl Diamond, who celebrated her 21st birthday at Velvet Room this past Sunday.

I heard from an industry insider that the friends who were supposed to come out and support Diamond for her 21st birthday at Velvet Room this Sunday decided to back out at the last minute because, with the exception of Monica who had to attend a family function out of state, they were all feeling some kind of way about not getting paid. So instead of coming out to support -- as they originally agreed to do, they chose to sit at home.

The sad part is all of these artists will eventually need promo and PR for their albums, TV shows, etc. The party ended up being great anyway without them because Rasheda, Swizz Beatz, Gucci Mane, Polow Da Don, Lil Scrappy, Drake, Toya all came through and showed Diamond love.

Puma released a limited edition shoe to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Olympian Tommy Smith's defiant "Black Power" raised fist at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.

Smith came back to the states and was ostracized and roundly criticized for his public display of defiance.

The shoes come in black suede with a pattern of tiny "Black Fists" on them.

Would you wear these shoes? And would you be offended if a company Commemorated the KKK with sneakers with little tiny white hoods on them?

I'm just sayin' why would Puma bring this back up and inflame prejudices all over again?

Defiant Olympic Gold medalist Tommy Smith (Mexico City 1968) and his family allowed a photographer to be present as they celebrated the Inauguration of America's 44th President (America's 1st Black President). 40 years later folks still remember "The Black Fist". Source

Juanita Bynum celebrated her 50th birthday recently by wearing a tiara and a wedding dress. A white one at that.

Doesn't she look great for 50? I still think she resembles Tameka Foster-Raymond.

Before you think she's losing her mind, I believe the wedding dress is a symbol of growth and closure for the loss of her marriage.

One of the gifts given to Juanita was a gilded cavalry sword which will probably scare off any potential male suitors. I bet the next man Juanita hooks up with will be "soft" like her ex-husband was.

She's definitely the aggressor in any relationship and some confident men can't take aggressive females. Especially Christian men who want their wives to be submissive.

But then again maybe she doesn't want a man. Maybe she's celibate like my pastor at The Ray. Celibacy is definitely not for everyone. But it's much easier to handle if you're walking with the Lord.
