Over 100 NYC gang members arrested in murder of HS basketball star

High school basketball star Tayshana Murphy was 18 when she was gunned down inside her apartment building in a case that shocked even the most hardened New Yorker. Murphy was one of the nation’s top girls high school basketball prospects when she was shot and killed on Sept. 11, 2011 in the Grant Harlem housing projects.

Edit: Two men, Tyshawn Brockington, 23, and Robert Cartagena were convicted of killing Murphy last year.

For 2 weeks King tortured little Myls until the boy’s internal organs failed and he died. Myls was left in King’s care the day before the boy’s father — King’s lover, Okee Wade, was incarcerated on a bench warrant for skipping out on a court hearing in New Jersey, DNA Info reports.

Police Arrest NY Stabbing Suspect

Police arrested a suspect in the shocking stabbing deaths of a 6-year-old boy and an 18-year-old girl in Brooklyn. A 6-year-old girl was critically wounded in one of the attacks.

Daniel St. Hubert was taken into custody around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in Queens, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The NY Times reports police linked DNA found on the knife used in the stabbings of the 2 children.
