Cynthia Bailey and Peter Thomas

According to a confidential source, Real Housewives of Atlanta cast members Cynthia Bailey and her husband Peter Thomas have reportedly retained a high-powered attorney.

I have no idea if Bailey and Thomas retained an attorney to combat rumors that he, along with another Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member, are named in the federal indictment charging RHOA cast member Apollo Nida with bank and identity fraud.

Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida

Ex-convict Apollo Nida seems to be taking his latest brush with the law lightly.

Nida, 35, who is married to local attorney and reality TV star Pheadra Parks, 44, was arrested last week and charged with bank fraud and identity theft. Nida spent 5 years in state prison -- from 2004 through 2009 -- for his role in an auto title theft ring.

Facing multiple serious federal charges that could land him in federal prison, Nida seems to be taking it all in stride.

Phaedra Parks

Uninformed sources are reporting that local attorney Phaedra Creonta Parks, 44, is due to appear at an upcoming disciplinary hearing to determine the status of her law license. According to my source at the Georgia bar there is no disciplinary hearing set for Ms. Parks, whose law license remains in good standing with the bar.

Angela Stanton

For days the Internet has been buzzing about the arrest of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks's husband Apollo Nida. Nida, 35, surrendered to U.S. Marshals on Thursday, Jan. 23, on federal charges of bank fraud, embezzlement, credit card fraud and identity theft.

Now, author Angela Stanton, the woman who may have helped the feds build a case against Nida and Parks, is speaking out for the first time since she went into hiding in September 2013 after receiving death threats.

Peter Thomas

A staged fight on the set of Real Housewives of Atlanta got out of hand when the participants, namely Phaedra Park's husband Apollo Nida, lost control of the situation. The incident happened at a local hotel where Bravo Network's producers suggested that the RHOA cast members participate in a pajama party (who does that?) I know this is a difficult concept for some of you to grasp, but please try and remember that everyone in the room draws a paycheck from Bravo -- which means they are ALL in on the impending hijinks.

Anyway, the fake fight, which everyone knew was coming, went left when tempers flared and Nida, 35, flipped out on Kenya Moore's gay "boyfriend", Brandon. Peter Thomas, who was at the center of the scrum, explained what happened next to S2Smagazine.com magazine.

Phaedra Parks Apollo Nida Gayla St Julien

On Friday, Sandrarose.com broke the news that the husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks was arrested on charges of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft. Apollo Nida, 35, surrendered to U.S. Marshalls and was placed under arrest on Thursday, Jan. 23. Reality TV fans were sent reeling by the news. Dissemination of information was hampered when the PACER servers crashed under the weight of users frantically seeking to confirm details of the arrest.

But even more compelling than the news of Nida's arrest is the way the feds built their apparently solid case against Nida and his female partner in crime, Gayla O'Neal St. Julien, 44.

Yesterday the Internet was buzzing about a new scandal involving "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast member Phaedra Parks and her husband Apollo Nida.

According to Angela Stanton, a former friend of Phaedra's, the local attorney once ran a profitable car theft ring. I should pause here to inform you that Stanton has written a book detailing Phaedra's alleged involvement in the car theft ring.

The book is titled Lies of a Real House Wife: Tell The Truth and Shame The Devil. In the book, and in an exclusive interview with VIBE, Stanton discusses her relationship with Phaedra, Apollo, and Apollos's brother Everett.

All 4 were involved in the prolific car theft ring, according to Stanton. The operation -- led by Phaedra -- stole expensive luxury vehicles by simply driving them off car lots at night. They later trading the vehicles for cars of lesser value which they then sold for cash.
