Four months after giving birth to a premature baby girl, local Atlanta Socialite Monyetta Shaw is expecting again.
This will be the second child for Shaw and R&B singer/songwriter Ne-Yo, who are proud parents of Madilyn Grace Smith. Ne-Yo is hoping for a boy this time, according to a source close to Ne-Yo's camp.
You may recall that Ne-Yo, real name Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr., was duped into believing a boy born in 2005 was his. But subsequent tests revealed the child was not his.
In an August 2010 interview with British tabloid The Sun, Ne-Yo said of Monyetta, "I have a friend. Not a girlfriend. She's carrying my child, but knows I can't commit. She doesn't mind other women."
As for Monyetta, she is living the high life after opening a high end clothing boutique in Buckhead last year with Ne-Yo's money. The boutique has yet to turn a profit. But Monyetta can often be seen steering her Maybach drop top around the Buckhead area with a baby car seat in the back. The luxury automobile has room for 5 additional baby car seats, and sources tell me that Monyetta isn't done dropping babies for Chimere.
Right off the bat, new mommy Christina Milian is showing her tendency to be a hands-off mom by using a nanny. A lot of new moms are timid like that. Plus, Christina has a fading music career to resurrect (if that's at all possible).
Christina is looking fine as I don't know what with all that white on. While shopping yesterday, I picked up a few all white outfits for myself. LisaRaye is starting a new trend!
I thought 50 Cent retired from the biz after his last couple of CDs flopped? Here's new music by Fiddy featuring Ne-Yo off his upcoming album Before I Self Destruct, dropping in November.
Grammy award winning producer/singer Ne-Yo shows off his singing skills on this smooth track, but it's 50 Cent's annoying half-singing that kills the mood: "Have a baby by me baby, be a millionaire," he begs. Awful!
Last week's Secret Society Thursdays at Door 44 was poppin! There were so many celebs and patrons in the house that Alex Gidewon had to cut the line at 2 a.m. Keyshia Cole's mom Frankie was all over rapper Yung Joc, who she might have confused for her man since they're about the same age. In fact, she was all over quite a few men in the club. We hope she wasn't driving.
So much for the down low rumors... Actor Malik Yoba and his LSLH girlfriend looked very cozy at AG Entertainment's Secret Society Thursdays party at Door 44 last week. The two held hands and snuggled all night long in a darkened corner (there are no VIP areas at Door 44). As you know, Mr. Yoba is in town filming a Tyler Perry flick with Janet Jackson.
Does Hip Hop's most tired couple, Knaye West and Amber Hoes, have some competition? It may seem that way from these pics of Grammy winning singer/songwriter Ne-Yo and Tattoo Girl that were taken last week at AG Entertainment's exclusive Secret Society Thursdays at Door 44 Nightclub. Some of you may remember Tattoo Girl from my post on Jeezy's Memorial Day weekend bash down in Miami.
Well, Tattoo Girl hit me up on Twitter the next day fussing when she should have been thanking me for the exposure. Especially since she's an up-and-coming rapper. I wonder if Ne-yo signed her? One good thing Tattoo Girl has going for her is she's not a stripper with a very checkered past like Amber.
Remember when singer/songriter Ne-Yo broke down and cried like a B onstage during a recent concert in England? His excuse was that he lost his voice or some ish. Well, we got word that Ne-Yo lost more than his voice, he lost his longtime girlfriend/beard, Tenille.
For an artist or industry cat, finding a good loyal beard like Jessica these days can be pretty rough. Just ask Eddie Murphy and Jay Z.
A good beard must be more than just a pretty face, she must be disciplined and discrete. But above all, she must be willing to keep her mouth shut long after they part ways. There are no pre-nup agreements between stars and their beards. Their word is their bond and the trust runs deep. No wonder Ne-Yo was crying! I almost feel sorry for the guy.
This past week, Ne-Yo partied the night away at a midtown nightclub. Sources say Ne-Yo drowned his sorrows in the arms of a variety of women. But at the end of the night, he left the club alone.
So singers are beefing now? R. Kelly just released a diss song in which he talks greasy about Ne-Yo who he booted off his tour. Thanks to my girl Fresh over at Crunktastical.net for the link to the diss song.
TMZ.com reports that Ne-Yo was busted for driving reckless in Cobb County, Georgia:
TMZ has learned that R & B singer Ne-Yo, aka Shaffer Smith, was popped on Feb. 19 while driving through Cobb County, Georgia. That's so sick!
Cops pulled Ne-Yo after they observed him driving well over 100 mph in his 2006 Range Rover. He was arrested for reckless driving and for not having a valid license.
Maybe he was rushing to the Hair Club for Men. WTF's up with that receding hairline? So that's why he wears hats all the time!
Those words are TMZ's - not mine. You know how ghetto they can be over there. I like Ne-Yo. He's very pleasant to deal with as far as celebs go. Ne-Yo wasn't driving reckless last night when he entertained thousands as part of V-103's concert at Dreamz.
