Game – ‘I hate my family more than I hate 50 Cent!’

More on that disgraceful funeral fight involving rap artist The Game and his money grubbing relatives. Game tells Power 98.3’s nutz in the morning show that his cousin Kirky brought members of the Crips to his deceased cousin’s funeral to fight him over money.

Game said his relatives leaned on him to pay the entire $17K bill for the funeral. “Their motivation is money,” said Game. “It’s really not my obligation. My aunt should have had insurance… my family is now my worst enemy. I hate them more than I hate 50, man!”

When your the one in the family who is “on the come up” everyone expects you to be the one to pay for everything!!!! It shouldnt be that way. That was not his immediate family that was his cousin and if he wanted to donate to help then cool, but he shouldnt be made to do so…

Hate is a very strong word and why does everything he say have to do with 50? This was an issue being discussed about his money hungry family.

I think the beef is more about him going back on his word, if he had the money why wouldn’t he want to contribute to the funeral expenses-if you have been blessed to even achieve the type of wealth this man has-what’s the point in having money if you are not willing to help those in need; especially family.

this man is shortening his life every time he opens his mouth he’s wishy washy for one and obviously not a man of his word-his failed relationships can attest to that-whatever happened to the woman he was suppose to marry-the one that was pregnant and the other college chick that he didn’t have sex with until the night he proposed-his exact words-it’s not a surprise shortly afterwards they broke up

I wouldn’t have used hate either but sometimes people especially family can make you feel like that. I don’t blame Game, I could understand it better if they were supportive of him b4 he became THE GAME, he grew up in a foster home, where were his aunts and cousins then? I don’t believe it’s about the money because he has more than enough I think it’s the whole principal of them feeling like he is suppose to. I wouldn’t have paid anything either, why is it that funeral’s and death period bring out the worst in people when it’s suppose to be a time of mourning?

Now you know once the family find out one got some $$, they gon hit that person up each and every time they seen that member…..I agree that if you got money, you should help the family, but the family should not take advantage of the fact that you got money…

The Game is from the hood…I KNOW we know how it is in the hood….I’m sure they den all hit that man up for houses, cars, $$ for them, they kids, they baby mamas, etc…

I think he’s more or less pissed that his family went to the media w/something that should have been kept out of the media…..He could have said “My peoples can be bogish as hell sometimes” (LOL) or something like that…..

I’m glad I have life insurance & a family that cares , because when you own fam don’t give a damn about laying you to rest right-that just goes to show that we are living in some f#cked up times.

I have family members I don’t necessarily get along with but when someone dies in our family, we put petty differences aside ( my g-ma says they have paid their debt to society) and we all chip in what we can-to make sure the person is laid to rest properly.

I’m glad he decided against paying for the funeral. As he said the mother should have had insurance. How many stories do we have to hear about entertainers going broke before they wise up? You can not pay for everything, you can not live frivolously, you can not support every damn body etc. Otherwise you’ll end up on tape crying to 50 for a loan. It’s sad that a fight broke out at the funeral, and of course we’ve only heard his side of the story, but I’m inclined to believe his side of the story. Especially since according to t m z the cousin is in the process of filing a lawsuit. Seems like his cousin and probably some of his other family members are a bit green at the fact that he’s in the limelight and they aren’t.

^^Yeah. Not to mention they are seeking monetary damages.lol. He and his brother fell out some time ago, and now I’m guessing he feels like he doesn’t have a friend in the world. Again were only hearing his side, but it’s still sad that money can turn your own fam against you. At least he still has his Mom.

I agree with everything you said. It’s not his obligation to pay for the funeral but he should feel it is being that it is family. When someone passes in my family, a collection is taken up and given to the deceased family no questions asked. If more is needed later to pick up the rest of the expenses, another collection is taken. That’s how we do it in DR and Cuba and we brought those same values with us here to the US.

This reminds me of a scene from soulfood where vivica turns to vanessa and says I thought you’d pay for it and we’ll pay you back and Vanessa shuts that down with the quickness. Why is it always me??? Why do I have to take the burden alone. Passing around a collection through the fam is 1 thing, but when the collection plate doesn’t pass any further than my door step it’s a problem.

And family business should be kept private. Yes his cousin brought it to the media first but Game shouldve taken the high road and told the radio DJ that family business is just that, family business.

And his statement about his aunt not having insurance proves just how much money changes people. If she didnt have insurance don’t you think there is a very good reason why??? Maybe she didn’t have the money??? Maybe her employer didn’t offer it??? It’s really not realistic to assume that EVERYONE has insurance. Did he hav e insurance when he was shot way before he got a taste of rap money??? I bet he didnt…

He could have paid for the dayum funeral. LIke someone said, he could have also written that ish off. Some people want entertainers to save the world, open centers, start programs etc, but it’s cool when he dosent want to pay for a family members funeral.

I probably shouldn’t even be posting on this one because my opinion hasn’t changed. The only differance is when the cousin ran to TMZ with this story he said the funeral was 14k which was ridiculous enough, but apparently he told Game it was 17k and expected him to pay for all of it. Game offered to pay for the coffin which is the single most expensive part of a funeral. That is more than fair. If his cousin is a banger shouldn’t he have some money of his own? Anyway I feel bad for him. Sometimes you can’t shake that ghetto off no matter how hard you try.

I doubt it’s not the fact that “he can’t put something on it” but more so people making him feel that because he has a little more then some that it should be his responsibility. You can’t demand or tell someone what they should be doing with their money. I would bet that his family approached him in the wrong way and you know how we do. If they would have come at him in the right way, he probably would have helped but you dont tell nobody what and how to spend their money.

In this case instead of him going to TMZ he should of being going to AARP and getting himself together just in case “Tha Game” ain’t around to help him pay for his funeral services. Geesh…..

I agree with The Game 1000%. Family can sometimes be your worst enemy. He has money today but he hasnt always had money. The family should NOT take advantage of him in this way and I’m glad he is strong enough not to let thme. This is why so many “stars” go broke. Handing out those dollars to everyone in sight. And even feeling bad when they say no. Then when the star goes broke no one is around to help them out. Hello, MC hammer, Evander — I bet these guys have paid for a funeral or two in their daysand now Evander can’t even keep a roof over his head.. RUN GAME RUN AND DON’T LOOK BAD. Help out your immediate family if you decide – but never let them for it on you~!

The Game is a mess and a half. Why even give this any play publicly. If it weren’t for all of his public spats with any and everyone, I might be on his team but o well. Who really gives a damn.
