“When I did that metallic body paint stuff for my video, I didn’t do it to show my body. “I didn’t do it for people to like me. I did it because it was a cool visual, unexpected, and it looked hot.”

But RiRi slipped up when she mistakenly referred to herself as a fashion icon. RiRi said, “I have done a lot of photo shoots for magazines but it’s always great to be shot for a cover because you know that you are looked at as a fashion icon.”

Unfortunately, Rihanna hasn’t attained that status yet. Fashion icon status is bestowed upon those who take fashion risks while influencing the current style and trends of their generation. Being a fashion icon means firing your stylist and disorganizing your closet.

Rihanna’s generation already has a fashion icon. That would be Zoe Kravitz whose eclectic, Afrocentric style of dress has influenced others to buck the current trends and make the world their closet!
