Throwback Thursdays: MC Hammer – Let’s Get It Started

This was the joint back in the day when music was fun and artists cared enough about their craft to give the fans their all. Then Gangsta rap happened along and killed all that.

“Let’s Get It Started” created some buzz for Hammer, but of course it was the follow up single, “You Can’t Touch This”, that shot him into the stratosphere.

Man I loved me some Hammer. He was a hyped up entertainer that got you off your azz and dancing. I still remeber the hammer pants suit I had. Those were the good ‘ol dys.

and of course that vidoe pumps & a bump! lawd I remember when that video came on “THE BOX” ( lawd that old call in a request your video on tv) and i knew the numbers by heart but I was too scared my mama would beat me if i called that number….. That video was wayyyyyyyyy too much!!! with that sock in his draws! hahahhahaaa

Thanks for bringing back the memories. They always gave you your money worth at a show. Everyone would dance and not that much thought was given about looking cute
