Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes consider $200,000-a-month NYC rental

This is beyond ridiculous! I am not one to tell anyone how they should spend their finances, but $200,000 a month on a duplex when there are children starving in the world? Just because you have the means doesn’t mean you should be reckless and wasteful with it.

According to online reports, Cruise and Holmes “fell in love” with a two-story penthouse apartment in Donald Trump’s building on Park Avenue.

The duplex has a huge terrace, four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a den, a library, dining room and kitchen – and boasts 360 degree views of Manhattan.

Trump building boss Michael Cohen tells the New York Post, “She saw it and she loved it. They’re very interested and are now making their decision.” (Source)

At least they’re not buying the penthouse so they won’t be stuck with a home mortgage of $200,000-a-month. The penthouse is on the market for a staggering $45 million.

that’s the rent or mortgage on a 40 or 50 million dollar pad. my college mate bought a pad n nyc a minute ago. its a 2 bed roomer and it cost 800k.

Damn, that’s just throwing money away. They should definitely consider buying, it would make a helluva lot more sense to me.

Most of the property TC has (or lives in) is under the church’s name so Katie will not get poot. Now that does not include their initial home but the others.

I’m sure the church is picking up the tab on this one as well. They have to keep him happy so he can continue to recruit others.

i know i like spending my money the way i want to spend it, and dont see nothing wrong with them doing the same . .he has given more in charity than most of us has made in our life time. i say that gives him enough right there if he dont help another individual for the rest of his life. .. . plus we all can give some, even more than we do,,, we just dont. . .and dont have a bad conscious about it ..

Katie use to be the girl next door, literally. Tom and Katie can be in town and we don’t know it until they leave and hear about it later. The last movie Katie was in with Queen Latifa and Diane Keaton is the Katie we all have seen through the years. When she is with Tom she seems sad and not as bubbly. I use to like Tom until his appearance on The Today Show with Matt Lauer and on Oprah’s couch. Silent births and no meds for post partum depression did not sit well to me. He has stated that when he was a kid he was very hyper and his mom put him in acting classes. So what. He does not defend ridilin because he did not take it? Give me a break, some kids need it. Suri does look just like both her parents, but the joke is Katie had IVF with the DNA of L. Ron Hubbard. LOL.

Umm that’s only a little over 2 million a year. Tom and Katie are making at the least 50 million a year (I’m sure more) so this is nothing. Not to mention what he and she already had from their careers.

Stop writing stories like this Sandra you are embarassing yourself trying to pretend that you’re so full of knowledge and know what’s best for people. Keep writing about those small timers. This is above your class. I bet the wealthy are sitting back laughing at this blog.

You know what that amount seems ridiculous to us because we dont have it i bet if we had it we wouldnt be seeing it that way.

And that rent aint no better then celerities spendng hundreds of thousands of dollars on 1 purse (monica, beyonce,madonna…..) OR thousands of dollars on shoes….. lol

Things like that i cant really say much on cause im sure if i had the means i would want the finer things in life.

I still think Tom is crazy though and Katie looks like he doesnt let her eat

LOL @ Tom Cruise EVER going broke. When you’re making 8.50 an hour, 200Gs for rent is insane. But when you’ve got 70 million dollars from Mission Impossible alone, it’s a drop in the bucket. Tom Cruise will NEVER go broke. Dude get’s a double digit percentage off EVERY single thing he’s in or produced. Yea, he produces too.

And I’m sure if Tom were homeless, world hunger would be erradicated.
