This video, which was made especially for SR.com readers, brought a smile to my face last night. Chivalry isn’t dead as long as artists and gentleman like Ne-Yo are around to keep it alive.
I remember when I was in college, I had a male friend who had a car (at the time I didn’t have one). When we went anywhere, he would park and tell me to wait as he got out and ran around to the passenger side of the car to open the door for me.
I asked him why he did that and he said he was taught to always be a gentleman and open doors for ladies. Nowadays I’ll be lucky if a brotha holds the door open for me at a bank or a store. Isn’t it sad that we as a community have lost our values?
Ne-Yo’s third studio album Year of the Gentleman is in stores now!
