The Republicans sure are pushing hard for this Saxby Chambliss guy to win the U.S. Senate runoff in Georgia Tuesday.
Alaska governor Sarah Palin is even in town stumping for Chambliss. Last night she headlined high brow private parties at the W hotel. Today she will attend 4 pro-Chambliss rallies in Georgia stopping in metro Atlanta at the Gwinnett Center at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, Rapper Ludacris will attend a rally at the state Capitol today at 5:30 PM to lend his support to Chambliss’ opponent, Dem. Jim Martin.
The Republicans are hoping Chambliss beats Martin tomorrow so the Dems can’t secure that 60-vote, filibuster proof, sweeping control of the Senate that they want so badly.
This is important because if the Democrats control the Senate it means there will be little opposition to whatever bills Barack Obama tries to push through Congress.
Anyway, polls show Chambliss leading Martin by a wide margin so there’s little worry of that happening. Georgia is after all a red state.
