Rumors have abounded for years that celebrities hire bodyguards and train them as back up dancers so they will never be left unprotected onstage during concerts.

Over the weekend, we saw one of Britney’s bodyguard/dancers — a fine one too — spring into action when a drunken male fan attempted to get up close and personal with Britney in Norwich, Connecticut.

Watch at the 2:17 mark as Britney, who was momentarily distracted, screams in terror as the fan, Kyle King, suddenly appears in front of her during her “Womanizer” number. An alert female bodyguard/dancer quickly checked him with a stiff forearm and pushed him offstage, while a male dancer assisted.

It’s interesting to note that you don’t hear Britney scream, which means she was lip syncing and her mic was tuned off during the number. Britney appeared to be a little shell shocked as a result of the brief encounter, but she quickly recovered and continued the show.

King was arrested and charged with breach of peace — a misdemeanor. He was released on $250 cash bond. This story is all over the Internets. You would think a fan has never jumped onstage to dance with their idol before. The real story here is the fine bodyguard who handled her business! Can we get a little info on her?
