The public outrage and indignation is heating up over Barack Obama’s planned national address to schoolchildren on Sept. 8.
The protests forced the White House to withdraw its suggestion that schoolchildren write essays about helping Obama after they view his address.
But the decision is too little too late. Some school systems are refusing to show Obama’s address to their students next week. This action is being taken in response to a flood of phone calls and angry emails from parents.
Most of us don’t have a problem with Obama’s 15-20 minute address to the children, but it is the accompanying literature that conservatives and Republicans criticize as appearing to encourage student support for Obama. The accompanying “educational materials” do lend an Orwellian tone to the address.
As usual, Obama brought all of this drama upon himself. Everything would have been fine if Obama just gave a positive speech encouraging the kiddies to stay in school — and then let them get back to their class work.
But nothing is ever that cut & dry with the former community organizer.
Obama’s egocentricity and narcissism allows him to live a life unfettered by simplicity. Like other dictators-in-training, Obama feels the need to be worshipped and revered. The prevailing perception is if Obama can’t exert mind control over most Americans then he’ll go after their toddlers and pre-teens.
and ONE!! right on time..
that is such disrespect and blatantly RACIST that schools dont want to hear the president’s address to work hard and motivate kids to do what they need to do to better themselves to prepare for the future. (i can remember being in middle school watching the verdict on the oj simpson trial), now ig’nant parents are talkin bout lettin their child NOT go to school so they dont hear the black man’s speech and deprive their child of education for a day. gimme a break, are u serious?
yea keep them out of school so they dont listen to the black president speech but let em stay home to watch BET, MTV and sit around the house and waste the electric bill all day. yea…smart people!
anyways….
so NB is not 21 she look like she can be between 25 – 28..
Sandra,
How come you keep talking about NB sexuality? If you have the tea spill it
@masonmo … ROFL. I just got on, read your comment on the other post and now this one … too funny.
I really thought the back to school message was a great idea to motivate the students … especially Black students.
Then I saw the curriculum outline, I knew that wasn’t going to fly. Especially since the curriculum outline specified the president. It would have been more acceptable had it more generic to say “government” and/or “country”.
Instead it read, do this/that for the president … chart goals on helping the president…give history lesson on the president.
I’m with Sandra, Obama’s admin went a step too far.
@masonmo … ROFL. I was laughing at your comment #2

you dmnnnnnn right! and as long as he passed the brown paper bag test i will KEEP pullin it. **sip-sip-sip** SAY AAAHHHH!!!
The issue with this is that it is not about the messege, but the messenger. When Daddy Bush did the same thing in 1991 during the War on Drugs it wasn’t this uproar. I am a TEACHER and this is needed. In a day in age where every student wants to be an athelete, they need to hear the most powerful man in America talk about education. I saw the lesson that went with it too and there were several ideas to decide to do in the classroom. So no one was limited to do any particular assignment.
Dhoward thanks for your insight and the truth
Even w/o the so called pledges to the Prez YT folks would have found another reason to boycott the Presidents speech
Kids pledge to artist and atheltes everyday when they try to be just like them

you must be talking about the black kids..not too many white kids want to take athlete/rapper route and maybe this is what you fail to understand, the messiah wants the kids to write to the w.h and what is he going to do with their addresses…hopefully you have the answer

and where are these kids parents? kids shouldnt pledge to the president (unconstitutional ..honey) but they have to pledge to the country ( get the difference?)
So freakin what if he wants them to write to the white house. Who cares!!! Make them write/think/read/comprehend!!! African your a kool aid drinker too yours is just laced with cyanide.
I also think this is more about race. The mans whole presidency will be about race.
MY POST FROM YESTERDAY ON THE SAME SUBJECT:
I don’t see anything at all wrong with this. Obama is going to speak to children about taking control of their education. So what if a small child has to draw a picture regarding his thoughts on the speech or write a speech big deal. Let them use their brains and imaginations. I just found an article about parents actually requesting that their children not listen to the speech. Guess where that article was printed TEXAS.
Everything this man does is critized and scrutinized and it’s all because he’s a black man. People were talking about how there was no racism in America. The fact that a black man was elected President proves it. BU{{SH;T!!! Now we get to see exactly how much racism there is in America because a black man is the President.

because thats not his job to tell my kid to write to him, only a parent has the religious, biological and legal right to decide what his/her child does( as long his child is still a minor)..you can be angry all you want but here is my question, if your messiah wasnt doing anything wrong why did he backpedal? make me laugh
okay so angry i’m not. let’s clear that up.
Hell every Christmas they go sit on a fat white mans lap and he tells them to write to them and that’s okay. But when Obama does it it’s a problem.
It’s ignorant. Everything he does is just absolutely blown waaay out of porportion.
first of all african dude…its the parents responsibility to make sure their child/kids not out in the streets lookin to rob, steal n kill folks either so at least u got somebody takin the initiative to keep these kids motivated to take the right path and have somebody else to look up to. look at u playin the race cards talkn bout it must be black kids lookin up to athletes. maybe cuz the white kids are secretly lookin up to lil wayne!

reading comprehension where are you when some folks need it..first you`re repeating what i previously said..of course its the parents responsibilities to make sure these kids grow up to be well structured citizens, good to know you know that, now white kids may be secretly admiring lil wayne”( per your words) but who ends up being the brain surgeons? pilots? accountants? renowned architects and engineers?who ends up being the owners of those sports franchises? compare the percentages and do your math..smh
@african_dude…..sweetie I work in an affluent neighborhood where most of the students are not African American and yes, they also have dreams of being atheletes as well. And for you to refer to President Obama as the messiah tells me exactly where you are in this situation. Athletes in Texas hold camps every summer where people pay to have their child practice on a sport and they are also encouraged to stay in school. Why is this so different? In education all we hear is about the dropout rate, No Child Left Behind, and failure rates; I could stand to hear someone talk about staying in school.
wow african dude! the slaved content mind is such a powerful waste! the whole point of this “change” movement is to change those statistics and stereotypes so maybe one day generations from now we dont still have such “percentages” and become all those affluent professional occupations you named! YOU are part of the group of haters that keep me motivated and to teach my son and future kids to show n prove we are better than the stereotypes!
I just gotta know are you from Africa???

no honey…just my screen name, even if i was what difference does that make? do you think if you tell africans that they`re poor, they will be mad at you? heck they will laugh at you because you`re just repeating something that they already know

you must really be struggling with english language, first do yourself a favor and learn another word other than “hater“ . If my comments motivates to raise your son to be a better person, i guess i should have charged you a fee..lol but i`m happy to have helped in any form

WHAT??!! I just asked a question. Touchy much??
Mia that is why I don’t respond to him
We all know what this is about at the end of the day. From parents, church, community, rappers, ball players they all have had stay in school campaigns some even w/ pledges so to speak but at the end of the day the message is stay n school n stay out of trouble end of story.
