By now you are probably familiar with 62-year-old General Larry Platt who gained instant fame when he performed his ditty “Pants On the Ground” during American Idol’s Atlanta auditions.
General Platt slammed Hop Hop’s current trend of wearing their pants sagging off their thighs — and American audiences ate it up.
Will General Platt follow in the footsteps of Britain sensation Susan Boyle and release a platinum-selling album of Hip Hop put downs?
Loyal reader Victor L. Jenkins of EMV Brothers Ink writes:
Hey check this out. After you watch, check him out on The View this morning on ABC!
Such a calm cool and warming man came into the office and charmed us with his powerful message. EMV Brothers Ink studios had a great time with this shoot thanks to Neka Yates with http://www.NekaRazzi.com
I died when I saw him perform on AI. And then when I saw the VIKINGS perform this in their locker room after beating the ‘Boys’ I was done
Dr. Boyce Watkins of AOL Black Voices has a commentary about Wyclef’s Yele Haiti organization and a post of Wyclef responding to the attacks on his organization. Very interesting. Keep Supporting Haiti
I love this song….and THe General really did a good job coming up with this song…….
The song is entertaining and its nice to see an old man making a point, but a whole album…….I don’t know about that.
Of all the more deserving things black people could be recognized for this is the highlight huh?
The General added some extra lyrics when performing on The View this morning.
I wish they had talked to him about his civil rights work, but he was a little incoherent after performing! They did show him marching with Dr. King.
Still don’t see what all the hype is.
@Sandra, you and I aren’t the only Negroes disappointed with Brother Barack. Dr. Cornel West said that we (Black folks) should protect him from personal attacks, but check his azz when he needs to be checked. He didn’t say it exactly in those words but you get my drift.
This song is catchy as it is funny.
