Venus Williams Blames ‘Genetics’ For Her Total Lack of Class

On Wednesday during the 2nd round of the French Open, Tennis superstar Venus Williams wore the same black lacy negligee-type dress with flesh colored shorts that caused such controversy in the 1st round.

During intense action on the court yesterday, her tiny dress repeatedly flew up to reveal what appeared to be her bare butt cheeks. Of course this was intentionally done to gain Venus the attention she obviously craves — though she denies it.

After Wednesday’s match at Roland Garros (which she won by beating Spain’s Arantxa Parra Santonja 6-2, 6-4), Venus told the assembled reporters that her outfits are not intended to generate attention. But they do anyway because of the genetics that God gave her.

“…the design has nothing to do with the rear. It just so happens that I have a very well developed one!”
“It’s all genetic. If you look at mom and dad, you’ll see the same thing happening. If you look at my sister (Serena), you’ll see the same thing.”

When asked why she intentionally wore flesh colored shorts, Venus responded:

“It’s really about the illusion. Like you can wear lace, but what’s the point of wearing lace when there’s just black under?”
“The illusion of just having bare skin is definitely for me a lot more beautiful. So it’s really not about anything else other than just that skin showing. So I’m glad that it’s gotten good reviews. I mean, it could be worse.”

I remember a few yrs back when Serena wore a red dress with cut out strips across her breast and you could seen her nipples, clear and simple. She was posing with what’s his name, the James Bond guy, Pierce Bronson I believe. He was blushing all over the place. Seems to me these 2 young ladies have been around the circuit long enough to know how to appropriately dress for any occassion. Hell, if I made millions hitting a little ball, I’d buy me some class lessons somewhere! Remember when they wore the beads all in their braids and they would be all over the court? Remember Serena’s black cat suit? And the large dangling ear rings on court? WTF? I’m just saying, use common sense people, use common sense! But they rock when it comes to playing tennis so I guess that’s all that matters, for real. But us black folks pay the price for what folks see and judge in the media.

Venus wore this same design twice this year (in different materials – red w/ Black piping but shiny and dancer-esque nonetheless..) Why the LATE rage?

People tore these girls up when they came on the scene with those nappy braids and giant bodies…after all that “He Looka Like a Man” …I think the Williams probably think to hell with all of us and the little bit of negative attention is fine because in return she can wear what she wants. It’s a small price to pay. Obviously she is looking to glam and sex herself up. Owning your sex appeal? How novel for the appropriate ass American women.

Why are we forgetting that the Williams sister love fashion almost as much as tennis? Under all that athleticism, they are girly girls….And I do wear sexy wear to my office. I just cover it up…with lovely cardigans or boyfriend blazers *deep sigh* I’m comforted all day but the thought of uber-luxurious underwear, Geren Ford camisoles, and Very Sexy Victoria Secret Bras…but I’m not Venus. I work in Healthcare. Ho hum.

Fashion is my passion, but my stage is small but take a guess as to who looks different from everybody else in the company photos…

ggouch – Yes, there are black ice skaters (Debi Thomas and Dominique – I forgot her last name). There are many more. There was black couple (I think they were from France) that competed in the Olympics not too long ago. But you see what I’m saying? What many of these ice skaters are wearing is no different or revealing that what Venus is wearing, but again, to my knowledge, I have never heard people make such a big stink about their attire.

@OTB, I only mentioned the ice skater thing because of what they wear, yet no one has been able to explain why no stink about that. I mean they wear revealing tutus and they kick their legs up and whatever else they do.

Unless you are married, they are very VAGUE in letting you know for SURE that your child can go with you. They will make you sign a statement saying you designate so-and-so to be the caretaker in case you are called up for duty. I am not married so I didn’t like not knowing that I could for sure be able to take my children. I know some who have their kids with them and I know some who don’t. @Flo you would need a child care provider. Two of my friends did this one was going into the army the other was taking care of the children. The Army heffa had to sign the care of her children over to the caretaker floosie. She had to have parental rights and agree to become the childs guardian in case something happened to the heffa. But, that only lasted during the boot camp phase. When the heffa was stationed in Hawii the floosie moved there too. I think it was for maybe 2 years. But to say you do need a guardian who will be fully responsible for the child and the Service made sure everything was legal

A lttle secret Ive learned about the women in this industry…not many, first off, and def. not many of color….so if you are a WOC and doing the damn thang? Be prepared for the looks. They make you prove yourself over and over again and really we dont make it easy by being less conservative in dress, but screw them. I work hard for the money and it reflects in my wardrobe LOL! ^5

I also agree with the poster that said maybe she wears it on the courts because it gets no action in the bedroom.

My first year in college I didnt have my baby. I had to do what
I had to do. I had to leave her behind with my family; no kids in the dorms. And in my second year I was pregnant AGAIN and lived in the dorms till I gave birth…

I love school and learning, so I cant relate there but I know friends who hate school but go every day because of the end result.

And whats wrong with online schools? I’d bet that college thats an hour away has an online program…them being an hour away would only matter at like finals time… think how much more attractive you would be to your current (and future!) employer with a degree…

She wore the same (maybe not the exact same, LOL) color drawers before a few months ago and people thought she was naked then. It’s weird Venus is coming out of her shell because before Serena wore the more revealing clothes. It’s just an illusion and she’s not really naked so I think it’s alright.

Thats what im lookin into. The online courses that my community college here offers.. And lil mans dad said he’ll keep him on the nights that I have class. I already applied, all Im waiting for is to take the college placement test and my transcripts.
