Cabaret singer Beyonce’s four night stand at New York’s Roseland Ballroom sold out in 22 seconds — thanks in large part to ticket scalpers.
Bey opened her 4 night stand last night wearing a shimmering gold dress designed by her mother Tina Knowles, and shoes by Stuart Weitzman.
Fans, rather, Stans lined up for hours before the show even though they already had tickets in hand. The delirious Stans packed the 2,500 capacity ballroom to hear Bey belt out lesser known tracks from her ‘4’ album.
The concerts were described by one industry insider as “brilliant album listening parties organized for the fans,” which she hopes will spark slumping sales of ‘4’.
But Beyonce’s opening night didn’t jump off without some controversy.
Her husband Jay Z angered Michael Jackson Stans everywhere when he compared his hard working wife to the deceased King of Pop by calling her the “2nd coming” of Michael Jackson.
Jay Z, who didn’t attend his wife’s concert, made the absurd statement during an interview with Miami radio station 99 Jamz:
“What I learned from her is what I learned from Mike, and I know that’s blasphemy to compare the two because Mike was such an innovator but it’s like the second coming.
“For the hard work and the dedication that she puts into her shows – it just makes you want to work harder at your craft, she’s like a machine.” Source

I actually attend this show! Once it started it was awesome. She put on a great show and showed a lot of personality.

Michael Jackson wasn’t Jesus, so there’s no need to get bent of out shape over comparisons. I am not her biggest fan, but I have to admit that Beyonce is the most entertaining of her generation. And she’s light years ahead of the competition regarding work ethic.

Drake can’t change his voice. That’s his signature sound. Like Bey, Keishia Cole, Anthony Hamilton, every song they sing, you can tell its them. That’s why I rarely buy albums, I listen to mixes a lot because hearing the same person over and over gets irriating and all the songs are sound the same or about the same thing.

People throw around terms like legend and classic too much now with no real respect for what the words actually mean. You can’t compare Bey to MJ, there is no comparison, Michael wrote most of his music, Bey claims she does but has been proven wrong over and over again, Michael could dance and yes Bey can dance to but she isn’t on his level, most of her dances are easily imitated and learned everybody couldn’t dance like MJ, MJ left albums upon albums of classic music that will always be played worldwide and can make everyone want to listen, Bey is too young in the game (15 years in or not) and not one of her albums is a true classic. I like her first 2, I do, but classics? no… MJ was in the game for decades and I can’t recall ever reading or hearing him say that he was a legend (although he WAS a true legend) or that he was working on classic, legendary music. He made music for the joy and love of making music, period, and in the process made music that was legendary and classic. Bey is working backwards and hyping herself up too much. MJ was truly humble, a musical genius… you can’t compare the two and Jay Z is old enough to know better, I’d expect that from a kid not a 40+ year old man

i mean like c’mon…it’s been too hot for too long. i’ve turned into a true Southern belle – swooning in the heat with my hand to my forehead…laying around with the ceiling fans going full blast and the AC on “North Pole”. i go from one air-conditioned environment to the next. i am absolutely miserable this time of the year.
At Speak…im miserable during.summer as well. I dont do much as far as being.outside bc its too dayum hot. I cant wait for fall
@ therapist…i try and psych myself out every year into engaging in outdoor activities or going to cookouts; but it never happens. i only go to cookouts where the people know i will be sitting inside for some or all of the cookout. i haven’t gone to Stone Mountain for 4th of July, Memorial Day or Labor Day in several years cuz it’s just too uncomfortable. i hate missing stuff but i always end up sick for a few days after being outdoors in the heat. and i drink plenty of water daily so it’s not a hydration issue. i’m just really sensitive to the heat…always have been since i was a kid.
I must be the only Wayne/Drake fan up in here. I truly think Jay is overrated…he bores me. Now Kanye, he is on his way to being an Icon.
As far as a Wayne/Drake collabo cd, I haven’t heard a Wayne/Drake song that I did not like so I think the album would be really good. Comparatively, the WTT album was greatly overrated and I think I would’ve preferred the WTT album if it was just a Kanye cd. Kanye’s lyrics and delivery overshadows Jays
And for the record, Wayne has a GREAT work ethic. Drake & Nicki have talked about Waynes ethic repeatedly. He’s in the music business…he can be high and still get the tracks done

Matter of fact, as of recently, Rihanna has been bringing the hits NON-STOP (weak voice or not). Rihanna’s albums (especially this last one) have been more than solid…Beyonce, not so much

4 was a huge disappointment to me, it had only 2 songs that were worth me spending money on and WTT was another huge disappointment. I bought 3 songs off it and the rest is just trash to my ears and I love Kanye but Jay Z is hit or miss with me… he needs to stop dropping albums and just do the occasional feature imo

I enjoy Bey as an artist I think the girl is very talented. I can’t with the 1st line! It’s true though, lol. There was a 1 hour presale where many OD on tickets to resell on Stubhub & Craigslist. I got through twice just to see my chances so I know for a fact tickets were available 15 minutes later. So of course when it got to the public sale, there were very few tickets left. Love Bee but BeyonceOnline (which was the source for this “22 seconds” record) knew what they were doing. They mentioned public sale, but of course everyone ran with it thinking 3500 tickets sold out that quick. Anywho, can’t wait to see her Friday.
