YouTube comedian Affion Crockett premiered his new comedy series titled “In The Flow with Affion Crocket” on FOX last night. Crockett, who gained YouTube fame with his dead-on impersonations of narcissists Tiger Woods and Barack Obama, is quick to say his show is not an imitation of (nor a replacement for) the Chappelle Show, which ended its wildly successful run in the 3rd season in spectacular fashion. Comedian Dave Chappelle had become disillusioned performing for his TV show’s audience, who he referred to as “stupid people.” He quit the show during production for the 3rd season and briefly moved to Africa to find himself.
This is part 1, [Pass The Torch] which features the skits Tiger Woods’ comeback; American Idol spoof; arrogant Gospel singer; Hustles with Russells and convo with Dave Chappelle sketch. Videos courtesy of Pokerface at Seethatagain.blogspot.com.
Part 2 is after the break!
Part 2 [Put The Kids To Bed] covers ‘Hilight’; Barack behind the scenes; American Idol judges’ auditions; ‘Afritar’; ‘Common’ cold medicine; Fontain’s fashion don’ts and Skinny Paint
The show definitely had its moments…
I liked the show, but felt some kind of way about it being on Fox. I feel Fox is airin the show because he’s making fun of black people.
The show had its funny moments/ dry moments
oh i forgot he did barack that was funny also
I just remember him from Wiling Out with Nick Cannon.
I liked it! It was funny
I liked the wake up call skit…
@EB I agree
it was really funny, i will be tuned in every week
OMG Tiny and Drake had me in stitches

HOLLAS OUT LOUD!!!! YES! I forgot about the American Idol skits! That voice for Tiny was so dead-on! I was howling at how he was jumping around and doing Drake’s hand movements.
Eb, I feel you.
On that hotel lobby skit, him and the white chick got down so bad on that big black woman about her wake up call. I didn’t know whether to laugh or protest. The black woman fit the stereotypical mold, as the media would want us to believe, of a black woman. They rode the hell out of her.
There has to be an extra incentive for these comedians to go in on themselves but mainly the black woman. I was force to see that last Big Momma’s movie
. Mr. Lawerence please tell me you got paid because there is no reason…
It was funny, but not that funny. I don’t know how long it will last. The Skinny Paint skit was kind of out there to be on Fox, you have to give them time to adjust. I liked the American Idol Drake bit, Hilight, and the fashion police dude. I’ve already saw Tiger and Jay Z, but Manny was a new one. At least he got Dave Chapelle’s seal of approval
I watched bits and parts…. it was “okay” I will watch again. I had my mind made up as to what I anticipated his show would be.. in my heart I long for Dave Chappelle. I am glad to see new things on the idiot box… I will be glad when reality tv passes away…
I do feel he will receive lots of flack because he is playing the usual stereotypical characters… but it beats watching Tiny and Toya’s big adventures in Jimmy Dean Bacon land. Or Bad Girls Club of lost children who aspire to be the next reality starlet…
I think I will just keep watching old reruns of Will and Grace, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Mamas Family, A Different World, Cosby, Good Times, and Fame… time periods I can identify with.
i think the show will last for a whole because he is talented and with jamie foxx behind the scenes they will ensure it stays on long as people watch. i think its as funny as dave chappelle or as in living color. people gotta remember that not everything on those shows were funny they just had certain skits that was so classic that it made the show and i think as the season goes on he will get there.
I haven’t watched yet but I keep hearing mixed reviews so
I’ll get around to it eventually
NC stand UP  He is from Fayette-Nam
I think he is a funny cat too.
dang! i missed it. i love sketch comedy and really wish Dave Chappelle woulda pushed through whatever he was going through at the time. if it gets pulled from Fox, maybe Comedy Central or BET will pick it up. i can’t see the vids at work so i’ll have to catch it when i get home.
@ KayCeiSoul
lol the drake hand movements…they had me. Tiny was missing the nose though but the voice was on point

It was pretty good and I’m sure it’s going to get better, so I’ll keep watching. He really killed w/Drake and Russell. And I don’t know who ol’ girl that played Tiny and Nicki, but she was dead on cause she annoyed the hell outta me just like they do.
gm yall
drive-by posting again (boooo!)
newho Auntie y throwing shade on my boy Dave?
imma catch the vid later..

This guy is not funny at all. I would rather have Dave Chappelle back on air.
and i would rather see the real TINY. The fake Tiny was way too dark skinned to play her. What an insult. I didn’t laugh at all.
It made me laugh and was not a reality TV show so I’ll keep watching. And I don’t know if anybody watched the short-lived Wayans sketch comedy show on Showtime a little while back, but Affion’s show is significantly funnier than that one.
Morning Fukkers!!!
Well I liked the show and will be tuning in again I laughed more times than not NC STAND UP
I am glad to see Affion get his time to shine and I love me some Jamie Foxx to
Daves show was funny but he wasn’t the 1st comedian to have a sketch comedy show there is enough room for everybody
TBS shows Tyler Perrys TV shows and all they do is make fun of black ppl so I don’t think that has anything to do w/the price of tea in China as to why Fox gave Affions show the greenlight. Dave made fun of black ppl and everybody loved it so I call BS and double standards
Is it a holiday or something?? Where IS everybody!!!
I’m hoping I like it (although going with Fox is questionable cause they’re good for cancelling good shows out of nowhere) cause I miss the days when you could watch real tv vs the reality crap being forced down our throats

I didn’t know he was from Fayetteville…just thought he went to FSU…
Anywho, I loved the Tiny impersonation, and seeing “Ashy Larry”. I thought AC was a funnier Russell Simmons when he did the skits during the breaks of the ‘Hip Hop Honors’.
Daisy
but Fox (the network) tends to put on shows that go against Fox News… hell the simpsons makes fun of Fox News damn near every episode. The network choice doesn’t bother me in the least cause they typically show comedies that make fun of everybody and are controversial to some. I think I would be more concerned if it was on one of the big 3 networks which have never had a majority black/black run/black written comedy show
@tru/K Dubb Affion said he was a army brat I think he spent his high school/college yrs in Gotham city aka fayette nam aka Fayville
I can’t lie, I didn’t watch the show because I was trying to catch up on some deadlines – BUT, I DVR’d it. I turned to it for a moment and saw him doing a skit with some dude about his outfit with some boots and I had to turn the channel because I was embarrassed that he was reaching real hard.
Why do I get embarrassed for people when they’re embarrassing themselves on TV and turn the channel. I used to do that with Apollo, if you were bad, I turned until I thought you were done. I do it with American Idol and I did it with this show. LOL
LOL @ “Fayette-nam”… I was gonna go to FSU too but changed my mind and ended up at NCCU…

:lolol: I used to do that too. Especially when they had amateur night for the kids. I used to be like “oooh, they mamas and daddy’s shouldn’tve even let them go up there sounding like that”
I’m just not a fan of kid singers anyway!
@carrington-i do that too…i can’t! apollo, american idol, dancing w/ the stars, folks saying dumb stuff when being interviewed on the news…etc…
@Tru I have a few Eagles in my fam. I went to WSSU GO RAMS
It was funny…consistently through….so I definitely like it. That fashion segment along with the Drake and Tiger Woods segments had me rolling. The whole thing was funny.
Thanks for posting it Sandra, I missed it last night.

Me too!! OMG!! My son would do the same thing, even when he was very young, we would both be under the covers hiding in embarassment for the poor sucker on Idol, SYTYCD, etc.
As somebody said earlier, the show had it dry moments and funny moments. I think it has a chance to succeed as long as the writers keep the material fresh and continue to improve.

Only seen the first part so far and I am liking it. I will have to add this to my DVR cause I have missed a show like this since Dave went off the air
I’m so proud of him. I went to college with him. Thought he was going to be a professional dancer, cause the man can dance his rass off!!
Yo, that Hilight and Obama skit is killing meeeeee!
