Well, the “officer” was actually an off-duty Memphis security guard who was still in uniform when he decided to serve up his own brand of bare knuckle street justice. Pay attention kids: this is how REAL men settle their differences — with their fists instead of guns and knives.
The street thug, Morgan Andrew, said the security officer approached him and accused him of harassing a woman.
The two men exchanged words and then came to blows before Memphis police arrived on the scene and broke up the fight. Mr. Andrew was briefly detained by police while the unidentified security guard beat a hasty retreat from the scene.
The security guard’s supervisor confirmed he was off-duty at the time of the fisticuffs. But his behavior was certainly unbecoming of an officer in full uniform.

Although I prefer fist over guns/knives, I wouldn’t necessarily use this a teachable moment to “KIDS” as to how how “REAL MEN” handle thier differences.
Men know when to walk away from agree to disagree. Fighting on any level is violent and can lead to someone being dead. Either by unfortunate accident or the loser retailating.
Be careful of the messages we send out!

While I understand the INTENTION behind this comment, somehow, I believe that thought process will get lost on the “civilians” – “real men, don’t fight – CHILDREN do!”
When we get to the point where we stop thinking that we can settle things with violence and use that same ingenuity that we use to market ourselves as rappers and how to figure out “the game” and apply it to every other aspect of life in GENERAL, that’s when we’ll be better off.
My father has never raised his hand at me – NEVER. Never even raised his voice. I’ve never seen him have a fight, never seen him get into an argument because he didn’t HAVE to. My dad owns night clubs, so you can imagine that environment (full of alcohol and testosterone) often called for a collar grab from time to time, but people love and respect my father because when he says it, he means it, and they know it.
Even the hardest thugs said, “Yes, Sir” to my dad when it was all said and done. I was not afraid of my dad, but I had immense respect for him and he for me. He let my mom do the disciplining and $hit talking and she DID that. In church, school, at a stop light, at the grocery store, gas stations, birthday parties, my graduation, and just this past Saturday. She yelled, screamed and talked $hit all day long and I was still a jackass, Dad just gave me a look of disappointment and it hurt me to my core that I had made him upset.
Teach these kids to be respectful and you won’t HAVE to fight.
