“Single Ladies” star LisaRaye, who is currently on tour in Italy (no doubt spending that “Single Ladies” cash), was forced to interrupt her vacation yesterday to respond to the backlash she received from Stacey Dash fans on Facebook.
As you know, there are unsubstantiated rumors circulating about Dash’s abrupt termination from the popular VH1 show. LisaRaye posted this message to her Facebook wall:
As everyone know I am in Italy vacationing. I was just made aware of the lies that are being spread by Mediatakeout and other blogs that like to create false stories. I was not even aware that Stacy Dash had been fired from Single Ladies. Furthermore if she has been fired that is a network decision. I don’t have the power to get her fired nor do I have any beef with her. Now im going to go continue enjoying my vacation!
Stacy Littlejohn, the show’s principal writer and executive producer, also responded to the grilling on LisaRaye’s Facebook:
LisaRaye is a very strong woman and we love her, but she does not have that kind of power, nor at any time did she seek to influence any casting decisions. Furthermore, no cast member of Single Ladies has the power to get another cast member fired. the 6th grade back-stabbing that LisaRaye’s being accused of is completely the creation of uninformed, instigating internet gossip. Please don’t buy into it. Let’s just celebrate that we have a Season 2 coming!!!!
But why would anyone think LisaRaye had anything to do with Dash’s dismissal from the show when LisaRaye is just a cast member herself? If people on Facebook are this dumb I’m glad I don’t have a Facebook page.

I never really cared about that rumor enough to believe it or to not believe it in the first place…I don’t see how they will continue the next season without Stacey, but I’m sure we’ll all see what happened eventually…

LisaRaye is not the best actress but that damn Stacy Dash is horrible! I like the show and love LisaRaye’s character. I think they will recast and get someone else to pay Val (we were left hanging). Also, while on hiatus I hope THE ENTIRE CAST gets with an acting coach to ensure their acting improves next season. JMO.

How can one horribly bad actress have enough power to get another horribly bad actress anything other than a recommendation on what acting schools NOT to attend?
That show might actually have some “umph” and longevity as the black Sex in the City (I can honestly see how black women would find some entertainment value in this show when there are really no black shows on television other than “reality”)

The word of her firing is kinda off….all the “official” people who would know are dancing around the subject. I believe Stacy is in contract negoiaitons and if she gets through them she’ll be back…if not..we’ll see a replacement….. AND yes…Lisa Raye is ENJOYING that #SingleLadies money!!!!!..LOL

I wish she would stop that dumb $hit too. She’s fine already, why do you need a “thing” in order to stand out? And especially white. I don’t care what you say, everything don’t look hot in white, most times, white looks cheap, so you have to be careful and most of her $hit looks like it comes from one of those places you get your pink oil moisturizer, hair, jewelry, shoes, outfit and pay your cell phone bill all in the same store.

The acting on the show is like watching a soap opera. Ridge on Bold & the Beautiful have been giving his audience bad acting for over 25 years, but he is one of the most popular characters on the show.
Stacy Dash plays the same “clueless” character in every movie. She looks and sounds the same. I also have to agree with Carrington, Lisa Raye sounds, acts and looks the same in every movie & TV show as well. I’m just glad she is employed now so we can stop hearing about what that ex-husband didn’t give her.

I had to log in for this one…I always say that Stacey Dash’s acting is friggin horrible. All of them actually and the white girl is soooo outta place. LisaRaye truly is always LisaRaye…smh…u right Vivica Fox is the same way…but sadly we no longer have Living Single (Which I’m guessing Queen was trying to remake).
The show would be decent, but it’s casted like Tyler Perry chose everybody – especially the men, who can’t act, but are CLEARLY on the show because they LOOK the part. *side eye*

@40, so true, so true. Seinfeld and Cheers plus several other all white shows barely put a black on as a guest. It wasn’t until the final season I believe that Friends had Aisha Tyler as a guest. That show was on for 10 years. Ten years and not one black person? But the minute we come out with a show, there’s a white face in the cast. Single Ladies, Eve, A Different World (Marissa Tomei was on the very first season).
Whatever happened to that DL reality show of those guys in Atlanta? I think they were going for “A List” type vibe. I dont think it faired too well for them. No one picked up the show????

LOL. Ridge sure can’t act. I only watch that show if I take a early lunch. A few yrs ago I noticed Ridge had gray hair, it looked horrible. I love salt and pepper, but not on him. Ridge makes every word he says be a cliff hanger.

That is so the truth. I cannot stand these black shows having these random white people in them. Down to the reality shows. Real Housewives of Atlanta….why is Kim there? In the LA version and several others, there are no black people associated with any of those shows. Look at HawThorne (however they spell it) why the white people? Look at The Game…why is Kelly there? That’s the reason I did not watch The Game when it was on CW. I decided to give it a chance and caught up with the episodes (not too long ago after they brought it back), but stop watching after Derwin knocked the chicken head Janae up and by the way he treats Melanie.
Overall, the black shows that put the token white person in it so that they can get a few white audience members, is a #fail in my book. The white shows can care less if a black person on their shows…check out most shows on the CW and find out.
I’m guessing that I am the only one who liked the finale. It semi-fills my SATC void. I am looking forward to Season 2 and I hope Stacey will still be on it. Otherwise, it will get even messier trying to remove her character or if someone else plays Val then it will really look like a soap. That Malcom/Keyshia twist should have started a little sooner in my opinion.
I see everyone’s argument about the token member of the cast, but I definitely understand the placement. Val and April only became friends through Darryl. Inter-racial couple are very common. As for The Game, Kelly was married to a bi-racial husband. It’s realistic to me.
