According to a press release, Ciroc sponsored a meet and greet for rapper T.I. at the ultra-chic Philippe Restaurant in Manhattan on October 17, 2011. Celebrities guests included Super producer Swizz Beatz, Young hip hop star J. Cole, BMX superstar Nigel Sylvester, Los Angeles Lakers Derek Fisher, New York Giants Deon Grant, rap icon(?) Jadakiss and many others.
T.I. was dressed casually in AKOO jeans, Air Jordan sneakers, a fleece hoodie and his favorite iced-out Audemars Piguet watch (around $100k). During the affair, guests received signed copies of Power & Beauty along with a lavish gift bag courtesy of AKOO Clothing.
“We’re happy and extremely proud of T.I.’s newest achievement adding novelist to his repertoire and seeing him grow into this multi-talented and inspiring individual,” said Jason Geter, Co-founder of AKOO Clothing and CEO of Grand Hustle Records.
Geter is pictured above, 2nd from right, with L-R: Grand Hustle’s Mel Testamark, Swizz Beatz, and AKOO’s Jeff Belizaire.
“Throughout the entire event, guests made their adoration known from the enthusiasm level and the amount of hugs to T.I. regarding his first novel debut. It goes to show we’re all very excited about this new success with T.I. and more successes to follow,” said Jeff Belizaire, Director of Marketing for AKOO Clothing.

I saw him on Showbiz Tonight last night on HLN and they kept asking him what he thought about Lindsay Lohan’s current problems…he responded that he didn’t really follow what was going on with her enough to respond and they proceeded to ask him AGAIN how he would advise her given his current jail run-ins…he was there for his book and all they wanted to talk about was Blo-han!

He’s always had pretty good skin so that must be it…cause his complexion is all off.
i’ve not read the book so i can’t comment on whether its good or not. but there’s def a trend of celebs turning author. i don’t think that every celeb needs to ‘write’ a book. i think its really hard to write a great plot with intriguing characters (unless someone is naturally inclinded at writing). but most celebs just push something out with their name on it bc they know ppl will buy it bc of said name.
I’m gonna buy the book it seems very interesting but then again I love street literature
speaking of I wonder what’s up with my girl Noire she brings the heat when it comes to urban books

Well I have decided to check the book out…I’ve given $$$$ to other authors…why not him..
The subject of incest is taboo in the black community but it does happen. Growing up there was a black mother in my neighborhood who was having sex with all of her 5 sons…everyone knew about but said nothing..until one of them committed suicide. Looking back it was a SAD situation. I worked for Planned Parenthood for a minute and you would be SURPRISE at the incest pregnancies!!! Fathers and Uncles trying to cover up their SICKNESS with an abortion….smh

Before I head over to Amazon to read these reviews let me just say that after the last book convo I went to buy the other Midnight book but I read the reviews first and they were going off on Sister Souljah and the book basically saying that there’s no way the woman who wrote Coldest Winter could’ve written that crap, that she has a problem with black people in general because of the way she has Midnight (the hero and good guy of the story) look down on the people around him but especially black women, just a lot of ish and almost every review was the same

To me she was a bit overly descriptive and wordy and I honestly got bored reading some parts of it. And I didn’t like the looking down on American black females either. But like someone (His_mommy I believe) said you have to seperate this Midnight from the Coldest Winter Ever.

@Tam I may have given the book a chance before reading the reviews but since most got into the plot I don’t think I will. I read the 1st Midnight book so I know you have to keep the books separate but if he’s going around the world, doing ninja stuff and then takes another wife like the reviews said I doubt I’ll be able to read the whole thing without getting pissed off

I Still have the hardback of the newest Midnight book and have not gotten past Chapter 2. I will give it a go again when I have absolutely nothing else to do or read.
And I also wanted to know when and how did he get mixed up with Santiago dammit! If he was supposed to be so this and that.

@noneofdis… that book was such a slow read for me. Once I got a few chapters in I was able to go a little faster and finally finish it but it wasn’t one of those books that I read straight through and didn’t want to put down either. But I was excited for the new one because I thought it would make more sense and complete the story in a way (even if it didn’t tie into Winter, just complete Midnight’s story) but from what I read in the reviews it doesn’t do that at all
I just wanna say how ugly I think Swizz Beak is

I liked the Midnight books. I read it for what it was and didn’t try to tie it back to CWE. I think THAT’S where the let down is for ppl. Although it was fiction, it really gave me a different insight/perspective of the Chinese and Muslim culture. I thought it was a decent read. I take lesson in EVERYTHING I open my mind to.
