Pop icon Whitney Houston's sudden death will be ruled an accident, according E! News, who quoted a source with knowledge of the ongoing investigation.
E! News reports that Houston's family always believed her death was accidental -- and not as the result of a deliberate suicide attempt.
The autopsy toxicology screen could be in the Beverly Hills Police Department's hands by next week and, depending on the status of other elements of their investigation, the case could be closed very soon afterward.
Houston, 48, was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her suite at the Beverly Hilton hotel in LA on Feb. 11. About a half dozen prescription bottles containing anti-anxiety medications, analgesics (pain meds), and the antibiotic Amoxicillin were found in Houston's hotel room.
She was seen by a Beverly Hills doctor who treated her for a sore throat a few days before she died.
