Dog meat is a delicacy is the Far East. The canine meat is so in demand that restaurants pay a premium to dognappers to kidnap family pets by the hundreds per day.

According to London tabloid the Daily Mail, eating dogs is a longstanding Chinese tradition that dates back thousands of years. When food is scarce dog eating is an acceptable necessity.

But Chinese activists Yulin City, Guangxi province, are campaigning vigorously against eating dogs.

A graphic video created by the activists shows the frightened dogs being killed, skinned, chopped up and boiled, fried or roasted to serve to hungry diners. Graphic picture show dead dogs skinned and ready for the cooking pot.

As the country grows more affluent, more and more people are buying dogs as pets shedding more light on the fight against the canine cuisine.
