Over the weekend, reality TV star Evelyn Lozada, 43, and former NFL player Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson had a meeting of the minds that didn’t end well.

Johnson, 32, was arrested and charged with assaulting Lozada after he allegedly head butted her, causing a facial injury. Johnson, 32, was pictured bonding out of Broward County jail Sunday morning after paying $2,500 bail. Also on Sunday Johnson learned that he was cut from the Miami Dolphins (not that he cares).

The news comes just one month after the couple’s much-hyped “wedding” in Florida, and just 2 weeks before the premiere of their reality show. These coincidences led to speculation that the couple had pulled a publicity stunt to promote their reality show.

Incidentally, VH1’s publicist sent out emails to the blogs and media outlets announcing that the reality show will premiere Monday, Sept.3 on VH1 as planned. Why are we not surprised?

According to published reports, either Evelyn or Johnson, found a receipt for a box of condoms in the trunk of their Smart car after returning home from dinner or shopping. Lozada and Johnson allegedly got back into the car where a heated argument supposedly ensued. Either Lozada or Johnson allegedly head butted the other. Lozada supposedly suffered a 3-inch gash somewhere on her face.
