The gays are in an uproar over comments made by Ghanaian Cardinal Peter Turkson, who is considered to be the frontrunner for Pope Benedict XVI, who resigned on Feb. 28 due to ongoing medical issues.

If chosen, Cardinal Turkson will become the first black Pope. But his chances are growing slimmer by the hour as the gays vent their outrage over the Cardinal’s response to Christiane Amanpour’s question about the Catholic Church’s child sex scandal spreading to Africa.

Cardinal Turkson replied that the scandal was allowed to mushroom in Europe and America due to the proliferation of homosexual priests in countries that lack Catholic moral traditions.

“African traditional systems kind of protect or have protected its population against this tendency,” he said. “Because in several communities, in several cultures in Africa homosexuality or for that matter any affair between two sexes of the same kind are not countenanced in our society.”

CNN contradicted the cardinal’s viewpoint by repeating the oft-quoted American Psychological Association, which deems that “homosexual men are not more likely to sexually abuse children than heterosexual men are.”

The reality is that the Catholic church is rife with predators who prefer molesting same-sex children. What do we call same-sex pedophiles if not homosexual? We can’t continue to blindly ignore the fact that many of the pedophile priests are latent homosexuals.

The American Psychological Association’s PC stance actually hurts the cause of child protection groups that target homosexual pedophiles who conceal themselves among the clergy and in public and private schools.

But as Gawker.com points out, even if Cardinal Turkson is passed over due to his lack of tolerance, the next in line to succeed Pope Benedict XVI, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, also shares the same views as Turkson.

Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone…said that some psychiatrists had found a relationship between homosexuality and paedophilia.
