Beyonce performs at Staple Center in LA

Beyonce kicked off the North American leg of her Mrs. Carter World Tour with a concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Friday. Among the many excited fans crowding the front of the stage were Caucasian men who looked totally out of place among the children in the arena. That’s because the men are local bodyguards hired to protect Beyonce’s wig at all times during her show.

I’m told Beyonce didn’t want her security to disrupt the STAN-nish ambiance of her concert, so the older men were planted in the audience to mingle with her younger groupies and pretend to be Bey’s fans rather than her hired muscle. It isn’t hard to miss the balding men in the audience struggling to show interest in Beyonce’s yodeling.

My west coast connect tells me that Beyonce’s management will dish out over $1.5 million to hire “dozens” of muscle at upcoming concerts to protect Bey amid rumors of an impending wig snatching scheduled to take place at one of her upcoming American shows.

Beyonce gave her LA fans a quick thrill when she strapped herself into a harness and flew over their heads to start the show. “It was like she flew right over us,” said concert goer Michael Straghton. “It was impressive and unexpecting.”

Tickets are still available for many of Beyonce’s shows, including dates added for November and December.
