Renisha McBride

A Michigan man may face a murder charge in the shooting death of 19-year-old Renisha McBride.

Dearborn Heights police initially said they found the teen's body "dumped" in a suburban area near Warren and Outer Drive. McBride went missing after her family saw her leave home in her white Ford Taurus on Friday, Nov. 1. The family was not notified of McBride's death until Monday, Nov. 4, according to McBride's aunt Bernita Spinks.

Police now say McBride died on the front porch of a home where she apparently went to seek help after wrecking her car around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Instead of assisting the teen, the homeowner stepped out on his porch and shot her.

McBride's aunt told Detroit News that Renisha was shot in the back of the head with a shotgun as she turned to walk or run away from the residence.

“He shot her in the head ... for what? For knocking on his door,” said Spinks on Tuesday. “If he felt scared or threatened, he should have called 911.”

No charges had been filed as of Wednesday, but Spinks said the family met with officials from the Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday. Spinks said she believes her niece was racially profiled, according to Detroit News.

Police initially classified the murder as "possible case of self-defense gone wrong." But Spinks believes the homeowner was not justified in shooting McBride in the back.

“You see a young black lady on your porch and you shoot?” said Spinks.

“He killed my niece and he needs to pay for it. He needs to be in jail.

“There was no window broken. My niece didn’t bother anyone. She went looking for help and now she’s dead.”

McBride's death comes less than two months after Charlotte police shot and killed a former football player who sought help at a residence after wrecking his car.

The Stand Your Ground law is giving cowards a license to shoot to kill.

It's "OPEN SEASON" nationwide thanks to the Zimmerman verdict.

If it was stand your ground why did the police try to cover it up saying her body was dumped in that area

    • datsmdubya2u

it gonna get to the point where law abiding black folk won't be able to leave their house. not because of criminals (of any color) but so called "scared" white people

because either the police was trying to do an open and shut case. or the homeowner lied at first.. IMO

Hello roses, thorns, weeds, and fertilizers!

      Early morning roll call:

Bombshell & Dem Babies (Congrats mama)
      Brownskin Cutie
      Minaj (Miany)
      Mammary (Milky)
All roses thereafter and on probation---> Newbie Status

And of course.....Auntie Sandrita who is so wonderful, she gets her very own space on my post. You have arrived honey.

      Now to the topic:

It never ceases to amaze me how such hatred for a person exists. Although I do not know all the facts of this case, my instincts tell me this shooting was racially motivated. I can respect a person not liking me based on the color of my skin, but why harm me? Is it that serious? At the end of the day, what has been accomplished?

Again, note that I do not have all the facts of this case and cannot speak in the definitive; however, this killing reeks of foul play based on what I do know. my opinion:

Stand Your Ground Law = Open Season on Blacks

*Makes a mental note not to step on a White person's grass / property.*

God bless and will keep all roses lifted up in prayer and love.

This is so horribly sad. I pray for peace and comfort for her family. I don't have a problem with law abiding folks having guns and I don't have a problem with self defense laws. I think if you are bold enough to break into someones home, you get what's coming to you. This does not appear to be self defense though so, murder is the case they should give him.

    • Who Dat

      :nun: Made the roll cawl

On topic: I hope the Zimmerman jury/State of Florida with their fugg azz Stand Your Ground Law are happy. There were SO many idiots out here BEFORE that whole debacle with guns.

Still the SAME amount of idiots...who NOW think they can just shoot WHENEVER THE FUGG they FEEL LIKE IT.

Just dayum great. We as a people are so screwed.

    • A.J.

Wow, this is the saddest ever. You can't ask for help without fear of being killed now. Just terrible. People better get out and vote. :tea:

      Good Morning Sandra!!

      Morning Rose-a-cons :waves:

    • Pretty Brown Eyes

Good morning everybody. Another sleepy day at work. This story is so sad and unnecessary. That stand your ground law is being used all out of context by cowards looking to "legally" murder. We all know everyone isn't afforded the same opportunities to use that law even, if it was used for true self defense we would no doubt find ourselves behind bars. We have to always stay prayed up.

This has absolutely nothing to do with 'Stand Your Ground'! This is all about 'Fear of a Black Planet'! YT folks are now terrified of Blk folks! Justified or not .. we are all suffering for it! :brokenheart:

If it was a YT person on my porch and I did that.. I can only imagine how many charges I would be facing right now..

The sad part about this is that Dearborn Heights is FULL OF FOREIGNERS.
      Arabics.

I don't know what dude was; white or arabic, but I do know this.
He should be well aware of how things go here. Jail is his safe haven, so I hope he understands he HAS to go to jail or face the consequences.
:shotsfired: There's no nice way out of this for him.

And we don't have "Stand Your Ground" laws here to my knowledge. If she wasn't IN his house or attempting to break in, that's murder. Period. Point. Blank. :coffee:

Rest in peace sweetie. I can't stand this foolishness out here.
