Philadelphia Eagles LeSean McCoy

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is not backing down despite criticism over a .20 cent tip he left at a Philly burger joint.

Tommy Up, the owner of PYT restaurant, wrote a sharply worded Facebook post calling McCoy a bad customer.

Up posted a receipt on Facebook showing McCoy left a 20-cent tip on a $61 meal. “Twenty cents that our server has to split with the food runner and the bartender. Two dimes from an insulting multimillionaire,” he wrote.

Rob Knelly, the server, says McCoy and his friends cursed at him and made derogatory remarks.

Knelly admits he messed up McCoy’s order by forgetting an appetizer, but he said the group was rude to him from the moment they sat down.

“As soon as they sat down, they were pretty rude. I asked some questions, they weren’t really responsive,” Knelly told NJ.com. “They were cursing, making derogatory comments. I put their order in and forgot one of their appetizers, which I apologized for. They ordered things, and once they got it, said ‘We ain’t eating this (bleep)! We don’t want it.'”

The Facebook post received over 14,000 “likes”, and actor Charlie Sheen offered to donate $1,000 to the server. But not all of the comments were favorable. The owner admitted receiving hate mail.

“Eagles fans, I feel ya. Id be pissed too. But a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do and stick up for his friends,” Up wrote.

McCoy says he isn’t backing down. During a media availability session, McCoy said he would leave a .20 cent tip again under the same circumstances.

McCoy told the media he tips for service and he claimed the server was the rude one.
