Shameful: President Obama Salutes Marines While Holding a Styrofoam Cup in His Hand

President Obama salute

Marines and other military servicemen are outraged over the disrespectful way President Obama saluted two Marines as he disembarked from Chopper One in New York City on Tuesday.

An Instagram photo shows Marines saluting the president as he headed to the United Nations Climate Summit in NY.

Mr. Obama returned their salutes while holding a styrofoam cup in his right hand.

The irony is the White House posted the offensive photo on Instagram.

Twitter.com users reacted with restrained rage.

“Pres. Obama, having just given a speech on sending troops to war, can’t put his coffee in his other hand to salute?,” tweeted @AndrewShult.

Twitter user Josh Jordan tweeted: “What’s worse – that Obama didn’t put down his coffee before saluting, or that the WH thought it was smart to post it?”

And then there was this:

Not surprisingly, the photo was scrubbed from the White House’s IG account by Tuesday afternoon.
