As weird Hollywood weddings go, the Bride of Frankenstein-inspired wedding of Beyonce‘s sister, Solange Knowles to her longtime boyfriend Alan Ferguson, was probably the weirdest.
Solange and Ferguson tied the knot in New Orleans on Sunday.
It wasn’t just that the bride and groom were so far apart in age (she’s 28, he’s 51); it was the bride and groom showing up for their New Orleans wedding riding vintage bicycles painted white to match their designer wedding garments. It was also the oddball all-female wedding photography by Rog Walker. The strange artsy photos broke Twitter last night.
It’s obvious why the wedding was all-female. What other way could Solange exclude brother-in-law Jay Z from her happy nuptials?
If you recall, Solange went off her meds and viciously pummeled Jay Z inside a hotel elevator on May 5. Life has not been the same for her ever since.
According to Vogue, who published the official wedding photos on Sunday, Solange Knowles wore a Humberto Leon for Kenzo custom gown which she accessorized with Jill for Lady Grey bracelets, and Stuart Weitzman shoes. Her husband was dressed in Lanvin.
The only national media outlet to mention the wedding last night on Twitter was CBS News, which titled the article simply “Solange Knowles ties the knot.”
The responses to CBS’ tweet was typical of Twitter users who had no clue who Solange was.

true. i loved her music but i think she took on a larger than life presence after death. her dancing was cute and sexy for her music but it was that good choreographer chick. she really died too soon. who knew how great should could become under missy and timb.

Aaliyah is among the many who die young…with that, no matter how great/not great she may have been in her short lived life, she will always be revered as wonderful because she died tragically young and beautiful…I liked her music and grooved to her videos, but she was about the equivalent of a Ciara or someone like that…meaning, her singing was just there, but her body and dancing made her sexy, unique, and trendy, and she stayed with good production…
