A crazed Tulsa woman was arrested for slashing the face of her ex-boyfriend’s deceased girlfriend.
Police say Shaynna Lauren Sims entered a Tulsa funeral home and used a knife to cut the face of a deceased woman from her hairline to the tip of her nose. Police say Sims also smeared the woman’s makeup and cut her hair.
The deceased woman’s mother told police she noticed a woman with her hands inside the casket. She immediately approached the casket, but Sims quickly stepped away when she saw her coming.
The deceased’s mother told police her daughter’s face was sliced open and her shoes had been stolen.
Police found hair on the floor near the casket and observed smeared makeup on the face of the deceased.
While police investigated the macabre scene at the funeral home, Sims turned up at the deceased woman’s apartment. The woman’s son let Sims inside the apartment after she told him she was there to collect jewelry for the funeral.
Police arrested Sims inside the woman’s apartment. Police say they found a folding knife on Sims’ person with hair on it that matched the deceased’s hair. They also found a pair of scissors, a box cutter and smeared makeup on Sims’ hands.
Sims was charged with “dissecting” a corpse. Police did not reveal a motive for Sims’ bizarre behavior, but they said both women dated the same man and they were “frenemies.”
Sims’ bond was set at $10,000 for desecrating the corpse and an additional $10,000 for an earlier aggravated assault charge.
In February she was charged with child neglect and she pleaded guilty to an aggravated assault charge in April.
Sims has since bonded out of jail.
