For the first time in MTV Video Music Award history, drag queens will perform alongside celebrities such as Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato.
Additionally, Kanye West will be presented with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
From Hollywoodlife.com:
First up on the roster is Kanye West, who MTV also confirmed will be the recipient of the Video Vanguard Award! You might remember that at the 2014 show, Beyonce was the recipient of the very same award. Not only did she perform a massive montage of her hit songs, but her husband, Jay Z, and their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, came on stage as she accepted the award.
In 2013 the Video Vanguard Award went to Justin Timberlake, and not only did he perform his solo hits, but NSYNC reunited for the first and only time since their early 2000’s split. It. Was. Amazing.
As HollywoodLife.com previously and EXCLUSIVELY revealed on Aug. 19, Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Bruno Mars are all set to perform live during the VMAs, too. So exciting!
