Serena Williams Lied About Her ‘Superhero’ Encounter With Phone Thief (Video)

Serena Williams

Tennis superstar Serena Williams told a tall tale about leaping over chairs and weaving in and out of a crowd to chase down a cell phone thief. But surveillance video from inside the restaurant tells a different story.

In Serena’s version, a thief stealthily stole her cell phone while she was deep in conversation with a male friend. Actually, the video shows her friend sliding her phone to the thief who picks it up off the table.

When Serena noticed her phone was gone, she didn’t leap over any chairs, nor did she break a sweat running after the thief.

In her version of the story, she said “He began to run but I was too fast. (Those sprints came in handy) I was upon him in a flash!”

Actually, the video shows Serena slowly jogging after the phone thief who wasn’t running at all.

Serena said she interrogated the guy and convinced him to hand over her phone. Actually, it looks like she begged the guy and even offered him an autograph in exchange for her phone.

Like a typical narcissist, Serena took the opportunity to brag about her athletic prowess.

“Superhero? Maybe? Or HELL YEA!! I’ve got the speed the jumps, the power, the body, the seduction, the sex appeal, the strength, the leadership and yet the calm to weather the storm.”

Do better, Serena.
