Chris Brown

Chris Brown unleashed his frustration on “fake” social media followers for not buying his album, Royalty.

The 26-year-old singer slammed his huge social media following in a series of tweets on Tuesday. Brown has over 35 MILLION followers on Twitter.com and Instagram.com combined. But his album, Royalty, is estimated to sell a little over 165,000 copies in its first week.

165,000 not good enough for a singer who heavily promoted his album on social media and promotional tours.

“Everyone of you who follows me and has fake pages being fake supporters is a lil bogus. BUYMYSHIT,” Brown tweeted angrily.

Insiders say Brown is upset with his record label, RCA Records, for not doing more to promote his album.

Brown’s label mate, Monica Brown, also released new music last week. Her album, Code Red, is expected to sell 30K-35K in 1st week sales.

Some of Monica’s 5 million social media followers complained that the album is sold out everywhere they go. The album was not restocked at Best Buy stores in Atlanta as of Monday.

Stars who are obsessed with follows and ‘likes’ on social media are often disappointed in the lack of follower interest in their products.
