Lee Daniels Taps Amiyah Scott for ‘Empire’ Spin-Off Series

‘Empire’ co-creator Lee Daniels is determined to make drag queen Amiyah Scott his muse.

Amiyah, who didn’t make the cut this season on Real Housewives of Atlanta, was tapped by Daniels to join his fictional girl group in an ‘Empire’ spin-off series about a younger Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson).

Daniels, who is openly gay, supposedly liked Amiyah’s look.

According to TYI blog, Daniels called Amiyah in August and asked him to audition for a part in his fictional girl group.

In a post on Instagram.com, Daniels raved about finalizing his new girl group, which he hinted included a female impersonator.

It remains to be seen if Amiyah has any singing talent to speak of. Amiyah is getting long in the tooth, and he doesn’t quite fit in with young girls.

But Daniels has an agenda to push… so you will deal.

LOL. I agree with everything you’ve said. We both see the show this way. They’re down to 9M viewers. Sure, that’s still good, but it’s a colossal failure when you look back to S1 finale reportedly having over 17M viewers. If they don’t come back in March new and improved, Empire will not get past one more season.
