Oscar winner Sandra Bullock confirms she is now mom to 2 adorable adopted kids. The 51-year-old actress confirmed rumors that she adopted a 3-year-old black girl named Laila. She adopted 5-year-old Louis as an infant in 2010.
Bullock posed with her 2 children for the cover of People magazine.
Bullock told the magazine she first fostered then adopted the three year old. “The exact right children came to me at the exact right time,” she said.
She also explained how she kept the girl’s adoption a secret — even though the secret got out months ago.
Bullock said she kept the adoption a secret to protect the little girl’s privacy.
“You feel it’s very much like witness protection,” she told PEOPLE exclusively.
She explained how the word got out about the adoption after an unplanned trip to the emergency room.
“Unbeknownst to me, a photographer had followed us and taken a photo of us in line,” she said.
“The next day, I learned that a photo of her was being shopped around for sale to every outlet around the world. I had promised and legally agreed to protect her from something like this, and here I was chasing down lawyers — having them begging them to keep her safe.”
