Just as it was announced that Adele‘s record-breaking album, 25, sold 1 million copies a week for 2 weeks in a row, along comes Coldplay dethroning her at #1.
The British band’s latest album, A Head Full of Dreams, was released yesterday — and hit #1 just days after the group’s collabo with Beyonce hit the Internet.
Coldplay’s “Hymn for the Weekend”, featuring Bey, helped catapult Coldplay’s ‘Dreams’ past Adele’s 25 without looking back.
‘Dreams’ includes a sampled speech from Barack Obama, and a choir with Beyonce and Jay Z‘s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
Adele’s fans hope she will retake the #1 spot when ‘Dreams’ cools off, but not if Beyonce’s fans have anything to do with it.
