A registered nurse who photographed her patients’ nether regions and sent the images to friends via text messages lost her license to practice nursing.
Kristen Johnson, 27, of Fulton in upstate NY, surrendered her nursing license after she was convicted of taking a photo of an unconscious patient’s penis with her iPhone.
The NY board of Regents stated Johnson, 27, “did not contest the charge of moral unfitness in the practice.”
In November, Johnson pleaded guilty to taking unauthorized photos of patients’ genitals while working at Upstate University Hospital.
Johnson was arrested in May 2015 after co-workers complained that the attractive blonde nurse was photographing unconscious patients and sending the graphic pictures to friends via text messages.
Authorities contacted the patients in the photos that were taken in 2014.
As part of her plea deal, Johnson agreed to surrender her license and serve three years probation. Johnson was originally charged with a felony, but the charge was later reduced to a misdemeanor.
