President Obama’s historic visit to Cuba over the weekend ushered in a new economic era in Cuba. Soon, the picturesque island that looks like scene from a 1960s postcard will be ruined by capitalism and imports from the U.S.
Those imports will include retail as well as new cars and guns. Crime will spike on the island as Cuban residents rob and kill each other to acquire high-priced consumer goods, such as Air Jordans. And old timers who objected to the improved Cuba-America relations will point to this visit by the Obamas as the day Cuba lost its soul.
