Janet Jackson shocked her fans by posting a video on Instagram.com this morning to announce she is postponing her tour in order to start a family with her husband, Wissam al Mana.
Apparently the 49-year-old pop icon is joining the ranks of female stars who are having babies later in life.
Since having sex doesn’t require postponing a world tour, we are left to assume that Jackson is undergoing in vitro fertilization to get pregnant.
It’s doubtful she is already pregnant or she would have announced it.
The IVF process makes pregnancy possible for wealthy women, such as celebrities, who could not have children in their 40s or 50s.
Currently the IVF process is mainly available to women who are financially well off. Insurance only covers fertility treatments in about 15 states.
Congrats to Ms. Jackson!
