A California man was fired from his GOP position after he tweeted a meme expressing disapproval of Hillary clinton’s scandals.
Nathan Miller admitted he tweeted the image showing an executioner adjusting his noose on the gallows along with the phrase “I’m Ready for Hillary”.
The meme was posted on the official Twitter account for the Riverside County Republican Party on Wednesday, the NY Daily News reports.
Miller was terminated after Clinton’s camp reached out to his employer at the California’s State Board of Equalization.
Miller, 40, also serves as a trustee for the Riverside Community College District. A faculty group is calling for his dismissal there as well, reports the News.
Riverside County GOP Chairman Scott Mann took a lighter attitude toward the tweet — at first.
“That meme is nothing more than political satire. It simply expresses how Ms. Clinton seemingly has gotten away with every scandal and political flip-flop in her public life,” Mann said.
That was before Clinton’s people got to him.
After speaking to Clinton’s people, Mann walked back his earlier comments:
“I was made aware of the derogatory tweet toward Secretary Clinton when the press called me for comment. I was horrified and had the tweet taken down immediately,” he said. “While some may think it was political satire, it clearly has no place in American political dialogue. As Chairman of the Republican Party of Riverside County, I apologize to everyone and anyone who was offended by it.”
So much for freedom of speech in America. Something tells me Mr. Miller would still have a job if the image’s message said “I’m Ready for Trump”.
