R&B singer Brandy Norwood responded to Monica Brown‘s appearance on the season opener of The Real talk show.
As you know, a fan asked Brandy to contribute her own freestyle to Monica’s ongoing “So Gone Challenge” on Instagram.
The So Gone Challenge is a collection of ‘heartbreak’ video freestyles by other artists and the public set to Monica’s hit song “So Gone”.
But Brandy, who doesn’t need a video Meme to stay relevant, dismissed the fan’s question with a “Bye, chile!”
Monica appeared on The Real to say she was unbothered by the drama, and that it is a test of her new inner peace.
But Brandy isn’t buying it.
In a sparsely worded Instagram post on Sunday, Brandy wrote the hashtag “IKnowTHEREALStoryThatEverybodyDoesntKnow”. She followed that up with “PositivityIsTheOneThingYouShouldNotFake”
That last hashtag must have cut Monica deeply.
Monica has been plagued by industry rumors that her highly-favored-by-God personality is just a front.
But I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Monica and her family for years. Although we no longer speak, I still have the utmost respect for her.
Monica is a loving mother who is kind and generous to others.
To her credit, Mo works hard to project a positive image among the land of THOTS on Instagram and Twitter.
I hope these 2 Talented Ladies can put aside their petty differences and make good music — together or apart.
