Isaac Hayes III posted this video of Regal Cinemas employees apparently in the act of blackballing Nate Parker‘s slavery film Birth of a Nation.

Obviously someone higher up the food chain commanded the employees to say the movie was sold out. But I doubt they were targeting ‘Nation’ specifically.

This seems to be the movie version of payola, where theaters are paid to sell tickets to other movies to artificially boost a particular movie’s ticket sales.

This is why you should look at your tickets before you step away from the ticket booth.

Wow, It appears as if #BirthOfANation is being blackballed in this Regal Cinema theater. Patrons were told it was #SoldOut and had to buy tickets to other movies just to see Birth of a Nation. #RegalCinemas @regalmovies is there a reason for this?
