DNA testing

A New York man is offering on-the-spot DNA testing for people who have a sneaky suspicion they might be adopted.

Jared Rosenthal, owner of Who’s Ya Daddy?, operates what might be the country’s first rolling DNA laboratory.

Rosenthal, who is not a doctor or lawyer, offers confidential, secret DNA results.

Rosenthal, 46, started with five employees in 2010. He hired a famed graffiti crew to cover 2 SUVs. He initially offered urine drug tests before buying specialized equipment for rapid DNA testing.

He operates 2 brick and mortar clinics — one in Brooklyn and one in the Bronx.

Rosenthal says some DNA results end in joy and some in bitter disappointment.

“You have to have empathy,” he said. “How you give someone difficult personal news can impact that person for the rest of their lives.”

At $400 a pop, the DNA tests don’t come cheap. But business is booming, thanks to contracts with over 10,000 companies for background checks, etc.
