Rapper Soulja Boy‘s Los Angeles home was burgled on Tuesday, WENN.com reports.
The 26-year-old rapper’s California home was burglarized by a thief who made off with $10,000 in cash and $12,000 worth of jewelry, law enforcement sources told gossip tabloid TMZ.com.
The rap star, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was not present at the time of the burglary.
The LAPD have a lead in the investigation after reviewing surveillance footage from the rapper’s security system.
The burglary comes amid a stunt between Way and troubled singer Chris Brown. The hip hop musicians exchanged nasty messages and videos via social network Instagram.com.
The pair have agreed to a boxing match to settle their differences. The amateur fight is set for sometime in March at Dubai in the United Emirates.
Retired boxers Floyd Mayweather and Mike Tyson will reportedly train the pugilists for the boxing stunt that is giving a black eye to urban entertainment in general.
