The 2nd biggest story this weekend (after the Oscars Best Picture flub) was gangsta rapper Remy Ma‘s longwinded diss track in response to Nicki Minaj‘s shots on her and Gucci Mane‘s single, “Make Love”.
I’m sorry to bore you with this, but this is what passes for entertainment in the black community these days.
It seems Remy dropped a diss track on Saturday that was full of lies and innuendoes about Nicki servicing various industry men, including ghey singer Trey Songz, rapper Li’l Wayne and NY radio jock Ebro. Remy could’ve left Trey Songz’s name out of her mess altogether. Trey even authorized the release of a sex tape to support the rumor that he is a heterosexual.
Anyway, Remy took advantage of the sudden attention by performing the new diss track at a nightclub. In the olden days, before social media dumbed down the music business, entertainers would rehearse their shows before performing.
But this being 2017, and rappers being washed up and struggling for “Likes” on social media, Remy took to the stage woefully unprepared.
She seemed to forget the lyrics to her own diss track! Fans who packed the club to hear Remy spit 16 bars were hardly amused at the sight of Remy stalking the stage, occasionally shouting out the parts she did remember.
The spectacle led to rumors that Remy didn’t write her own lyrics.
It was almost as embarrassing as the Faye Dunaway calling out the wrong movie for the Best Picture Oscar on Sunday night.
If you listen closely to the video below you can hear the crowd booing Remy and demanding refunds.
