A Miami woman was charged with making false statements to police about hip hop mogul Sean “Puffy” Combs.
Jermelah Jones called police in January and identified herself as Combs’ fiancée. She claimed the 47-year-old rap producer assaulted her and Combs was being held in his Star Island mansion by his family against his will.
Miami Beach police raced to the affluent community of multimillion dollar mansions and knocked on the door of Combs’ home.
He was asleep when cops arrived, but was awakened and questioned. He told the officers he had no idea who Jones was, and insisting they were not engaged, according to the New York Daily News.
Police warned Jones to stop making false statements, but she allegedly continued to call emergency services, claiming Combs was in trouble.
Officers again reached out To Jones and urged her to stop making the unfounded allegations.
In early February, Jones escalated her bizarre behavior and began stalking Combs.
She drove out to his mansion on the secluded guard-gated island, and tried to talk her way in by claiming she was Combs’ fiancée.
Police arrested Jones, who reportedly told officers she heard voices and had “been recruited by the devil and his people” to harass Combs. It isn’t clear if a judge ordered a psychiatric evaluation for Jones.
