Akon & Jennifer Lopez received warning letters for peddling Vodka Beluga on social media. A letter also went out to JSG Synergy Group in Moscow, Russia, makers of Vodka Beluga. Akon and Lopez were paid untold riches to display bottles of Vodka Beluga on their social media pages. What they failed to display were disclosures that they were endorsing the brand for the Russians.
Also on the list of letter recipients are Lindsay Lohan, Heidi Klum, Victoria Beckham, Vanessa Hudgens, Naomi Campbell, Scott Disick, Sophia Bush, Farrah Abraham, Lisa Rinna, Vanessa Lachey, Snooki, and various famous and not-so-famous social media “stars”.
The FTC is not taking any action against the stars who received the letters. Not yet anyway.
