Canadian rap magnate Drake handled the hosting duties at the 1st ever NBA Awards held at Basketball City at Pier 36 in New York City on Monday. Drake’s guest was Bay Area sports writer Rosalyn Gold-Onwude.
R&B Diva Monica Brown presented and award but she didn’t perform. Mo is married to former NBA star Shannon Brown. The mother-of-3 was recently hospitalized in Atlanta with painful endometriosis, a condition in which uterine tissue grows outside the uterus. Monica told PEOPLE magazine she spoke out about the chronic disorder because she wanted other women to know they were not alone.
