Kid Rock has parted ways with his longtime publicist, Kirt Webster, amid allegations of sexual abuse. Rock, 46, is the third high-profile client to leave Webster’s publicity firm as a result of the allegations.
Reports of sexual misconduct have been swirling around Nashville-based Webster since Wednesday, according to WENN.com. Webster vigorously denied the allegations.
Clients like Randy Travis and Billy Ray Cyrus have already abandoned his firm, Webster Public Relations. And now Kid Rock has parted ways with the public relations expert.
“The shocking accusations of sexual assault and mistreatment of others I take dead seriously,” Rock said in a statement. “I never witnessed or heard about any of this outside that he was probably gay, which I could care less about.
“I hope to god this s**t he is being accused of is not true as he has been nothing but a good friend to me. But if it comes to light that it is, I will be the first to cut the head off the snake. Unfortunately, I believe sexual harassment is like cancer. We all know someone affected by it and it has to stop.”
The Nashville public relations Guru, whose clients have included Dolly Parton and Hank Williams Jr., was exposed in a Facebook post by singer Austin Rick who claimed the publicist drugged and raped him when he was a teenage aspiring singer.
Nashville police declined to press charges against Webster since the statute of limitations has already expired.
Webster is the latest entrainment industry executive to lose clients as a result of his sexual proclivities for boys.
Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, 14, cut ties with his talent agency after allegations that his agent, Tyler Grasham, molested multiple boys.
